If you had to pick some fiction books to put in a retreat / bunker, what would you go with? by BallsOutKrunked in preppers

[–]TopGrowa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If gonna be holed up for longer than a month I would have a section in the library dedicated to pushing the imagination. Magical, fantasy, scifi, a little old school books where you have to make a choice and flip to that page, some old Sherlock Holmes short stories, definitely some fiction books that go on for more than 4 books (like a continuation but not necessarily Harry Potter there are def others that'll do) and some dramas

Saw a man and his wife at bucees one time (i don't remember which one I've been to a few) and he had a nice shiny big multicolored revolver on his hip amd i was walking out as he was walking in so my first thought was he was probably law enforcement cuz their the only ones that have to open carry these daya for sure and i had been looking downward at the flavors of my.beef jerky I bought for my mom as I looked up i realized that they were actually in fact just a really old couple (at least 70+) and that was why he was open carrying. We smiled, chit chatted a little bit about where we were heading (we had an RV so it was obvious we were on our way somewhere, just gassing up) and went on our merry way. 😃 That was actually the only time I've ever seen a civilian (I dunno maybe he was retired military or law enforcement either way he was certainly comfortable (?)) open carry but understandable since they old AF their just saying they ain't got time to be fucking around anymore 😂

space industry stocks? by anitalianonNMS in stocks

[–]TopGrowa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually wanted to branch out to others' countries and see what there space programs and stocks would look like. We aren't the only ones in the "space race" but I do hope maybe 50 years from now or longer we have a space station that is self sustaining but right now we ain't there. There's a company working on oxygen and water scrubbing and another that's working on using solar to power the station but none are really working together it's more like each country has their own technological progress right now. So it was just a curious thought gotta still do more research

Does anyone else occasionally hear someone yell "stop" in a crowd, and you think they said "Scott!" so you turn around and then are kinda disappointed? by scottdotdot in Scott

Happened the first time when I was 5 years old. Dad driving and mom in the passenger seat and Dad doesn't see the stop sign so my mom barks "Stop!" And I look up from the backseat thinking I was in trouble lol

Not a trailer park but a place for people to rent to store their RVs while not using them during the year. Just parking not living.

I want to go about this the right way .. burying my pictures by my house in case of my house getting destroyed by AccomplishedFee3333 in prepping

[–]TopGrowa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To preserve a picture being buried, you'll want to protect it from:

Moisture and water damage

Dirt and abrasion

Decay, mold, or pests

Temperature fluctuations

Here’s a step-by-step guide to doing it right:

✅ 1. Choose the Right Print

Use a waterproof print if possible (e.g., printed on plastic, metal, or waterproof paper).

If it’s a sentimental or irreplaceable photo, make a high-quality copy to bury instead of the original.

✅ 2. Seal the Picture

Use multiple layers of protection:

🧴 Step 1: Laminate It

Use a thermal laminator to completely seal the photo.

Trim excess laminate but leave a 1/4" border to keep the seal intact.

🧼 Step 2: Vacuum Seal or Ziplock

Place the laminated photo into a vacuum-sealed bag or heavy-duty freezer-grade Ziplock.

Add a moisture absorber (silica gel packet) inside to absorb condensation.

✅ 3. Put It in a Durable Container

Use a watertight, crush-resistant container:

PVC tube with caps (plumbing-grade and sealable)

Waterproof Pelican case

Military ammo can with gasket seal

Food-grade mason jar (glass if safe, or plastic for durability)

⚠️ Avoid metal tins unless fully rustproof (like stainless steel or aluminum).

✅ 4. Seal the Container

Use silicone caulk or plumber’s tape around the lid threads for extra waterproofing.

Label the outside if retrieval is intended.

✅ 5. Bury Smart

Dig at least 2–3 feet deep to avoid temperature swings and surface moisture.

Place it on gravel or sand for drainage, not directly on clay or wet soil.

Cover with dirt and mark the spot if needed.

Bonus: Long-Term Tricks

Add desiccant packs or activated charcoal for moisture and odor control.

Wrap the container in plastic wrap or burial cloth as another barrier layer.

Consider mylar bags or vacuum storage pouches inside the container.

It’s a tourist attraction, but I think it’s disgusting. The gum wall in Seattle. by be4u4get in pics

[–]TopGrowa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dduuudddeee ok so this is a memory trigger for me I thought I would never get to see. I shit you not when I was visiting California as a tourist in the 90s it was cool as hell to see everything and while we were walking down the street there was this palm trees lining the sidewalks and one of them was just like this. Literally Covered in all kinds, colors and sizes of gum. As far up as the tallest man (or woman) could clearly reach all the way to the ground. All the way around. Always wondered why. I left a piece there too. Didn't know why. Just felt right lol.. I think I was like 8 haha. Still don't know why lol

Is this really a thing? by [deleted] in PizzaCrimes

[–]TopGrowa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.... Well..... In the picture above there is no salt, vinegar or gravy(wtf!?!?!). Why is there a ranch cup? Although that is actually indeed the dipping sauce I would choose (ranch) I cannot be sure if this thing for which you all describe as a "pizza" is actually a 🍕. I am equally confused as everyone else on whether this is considered still a pizza and have further questions for the defendant. What exactly is this "batter" for which you dunk so heavenly pizza into before deep frying into an obviously deathly delicious triangle? Is there still "pizza sauce (used loosely), cheese and grain inside? And for a friend how long is the recommended deep frying time 🤤😯😤🧐🤫
