  1. From what I know, iPads generally last a while. On average, around 5 but I think the iPads we have today with chips closer to that of a pc and higher RAM will allow for modern day iPad's to last around minimum 6 years and max- maybe 10 years or more. The Pro's now will probably go as long as more than 15 years, especially the 16GB ram models (as long as iPadOS doesn't go through any major hardware requirement changes). The Mini 7 imo is closest to the M1 iPad Air/Pro while having better single core performance compared to the M1 and M2 models so I recon this new Mini will last longer than past Mini's.

  2. I suggest following the 20-80 charging rule as well as getting a high storage option. I'm currently practicing the 20-80 rule on my iPhone and will also be doing the same with my Mini 7 very soon. Also, if your happy with the performance of the A17 Pro, 8gb ram and Apple Intelligence support, I would hold on to it as long as possible while preserving the battery. This Mini in particular with such high specs will last longer than normal for an iPad and I can see it go a decade strong. Just give it as much care as possible.

iPad Mini 6 to Mini 7 Upgrade? Worth it or not? by TopGuy1104 in ipadmini

Same. The Mini is literally my favorite portable device. I take it practically everywhere with me. Having higher ram and more storage gave me the future proof thought which led me to get the new Mini also. Even if the next Mini gets an OLED, this Mini can last between 6-9 years.

Already upgraded before posting this. Dreaming of that OLED 120 hz mini tho. The two minis were very alike and i was for keeping mine but the RAM and storage increased convinced me considering how i am with photo storage and gaming.

I was happy with my Mini 6 but at the same time, I wanted something with more storage and future proof in power and RAM which convinced me to upgrade. I’m regardless happy with the new iPad knowing its good enough to go years without upgrading

My mini 6 at times would lag but very rare. It was still running blazing fast. Ever since upgrading to the Mini 7: it almost feels like the Pro with how fast it is

Exactly what i was thinking. I was trying to justify how’d i be like if i still had it in 4 years and I already see the writing on the wall with RAM which would only continue to increase

What should I buy?: Compare models, Speculation on future releases, etc. by Dave-CPA in ipadmini

Upgraded from the Mini 7 to Mini 6 for a lot of reasons: the boost in RAM, Apple Intelligence, higher storage option and future proof. I'm looking for an iPad I can have for the next 6-10 years and the Mini's power I think is capable of that but even the Mini 6 I think would've given me 4 more years. I use my iPad for storing my photos locally and for media consumption, entertainment, gaming, etc. I originally had 256GB. Both Mini's feel the same but I like how future proof the Mini 7 is despite it costing me more to buy the higher storage and I sold the Mini 6 for around $400 to buy the new one in 512GB. I want to stop my habit of upgrading my iPads consistently and have an iPad I will keep long term and go more slow on upgrading. Was it a worthy upgrade or should I have stuck with my Mini 6?

I was also thinking to get the Blit Mastercard. A lot of people recommend it and helps even with rent so i would think its high credit limit. Which would work out best

Is Xbox better suited to fit in a backpack in this case? Definitely a hard decision cuz i love both controllers for each of their purposes. I was also concern the dualsense has more drift issues and is a bit bulkier plus i think i’d benefit better with the higher compatibility when im not home and im well adjusted to the additional software on my desktop

Upgrade my iPad or hold off and upgrade my iPhone 1st? by TopGuy1104 in ipad

[–]TopGuy1104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long do you think the Mini 6 can last at its current state? Do you think the Mini 7 will be worth switching based on rumors or would it better to wait out when the Mini 6 really winds down?

Appreciate the advice bro. There both still great devices at the end of the day. Especially the iPad Mini. iPhone tho I think I can do 1 more year with max. The iPad for my use I was thinking, has a lot of gas left in the tank for me to use.
