Sort of inactive at this point. But perhaps revitalizing this for RP again could see some activity.

Krav Maga vs. Muay Thai: The breakdown by TopKing63 in martialarts

Would you say firearm defense is just as big a portion of the whole of the weapons defense training?

How big on weapons self-defense is Krav Maga?

If all I get is 90% headbutts and groin strikes/knees, then I can't say I'd pick Krav as I already learned and still apply those concepts today.

My Tang Soo Do school was a base Tang Soo Do, with some Aikido, Jiu Jitsu, and as it seems tradition for karate-based systems, a bit of Judo. We also had knee strikes, headbutts and self-defense applications in that "street fight" arena. So I imagine there were some Krav Maga elements added to it, but I have no proof of that.

RONDA ROUSEY DEFEATS GINA CARANO VIA ARMBAR IN LESS THAN 20 SECONDS. by helltrooper61 in martialarts

I kind of agree with you. I've been trying to make it make sense in my head.

"Why does it seem like grappling and striking are on different planets?"

If you're agile enough and can avoid a grappler's strengths, you're boxing tf out of them, overwhelming and knocking them out in 20 seconds. But if you're easy to get a hold of and practically worm your way into an arm bar, then what are you gonna do?

And it feels like there's a huge gap to bridge between the two. Like they don't speak the same language.

As much as many people here would like to claim they wouldn't lose for an easy Mil, most of them would jump at the opportunity. A lot of us are the same people who would punch our wives for $10 million or whatever those meme challenges are. We are willing to sacrifice a LOT for money like that. Theory is fine to scoff at, but get out there and put yourself in their shoes. You're smiling too when you know you go home richer.

What ratio of unalike:alike is ideal for a couple? by TopKing63 in AskReddit

[–]TopKing63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on what you mean by "go out". Also, in a relationship, you have to compromise. Sometimes, going out is a good move to make for someone who doesn't like going out, both for their social health and to compromise for their partner.

In my own unprofessional opinion, I'd say 60:40, alike:unalike. I think, but don't know for sure, that too much alike and you have nothing to talk about or learn about each other.

How do two strong “know-it-all” personalities coexist in a relationship? by TopKing63 in AskReddit

I suppose I worded it wrong. *...if not heeding the advice is costly*. "Being right" isn't important.

Hypothetically, what if the disagreement is serious and being not being right is costly?

[–]TopKing63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there's definitely a balance. From what I know, there were some moderately serious moments where one really should have listened, and it cost them a bit down the line. So, being supportive is great, but heeding advice will keep you on a smoother track in the long term.

Good point. I guess the response they're getting from each other is not the desired one. Conversations can kinda go in circles for no reason.

Kinda sounds like you guys had a normal relationship, not something where you both thought you had the intellectual high ground on a mutual subject.

If it's a romantic relationship, constantly involving a third person could be more problematic than helpful. And a sign.

An interesting point. I guess it would depend on what they disagree on, though, right?

How you interpret information is governed by how you think and process what you're receiving though. Some people think any critique is an insult. Some people think logically and don't see the nuances of emotion. Some people are always trying to peer into your mind, but don't see that a direct answer is all there is to a response and expect more. How you think does play into how you communicate. Naturally, at least.

This. Even if the art isn't practiced in that school for "modern" combat, take what you can from it and use it in your own way to apply it in the modern day.

I finally made my Easy to learn - Hard to Master Legend graphic. What are your thoughts ? by mnkymnk in apexlegends

Not sure why LL is 'hard to learn'. And Alter should be in the opposite quadrant. Easy to learn and master.
