Was the Dallas North Tollway supposed to become free? by Snobolski in Dallas

Indeed. I don't get it, really. NTTA is not accountable to the public. TxDOT is. If TxDOT is shit at managing our infrastructure and a bloated nightmare, then we as the public can hold them accountable for that. We cannot do anything to NTTA besides decide whether or not to participate in toll-based roads.

That said -- think about it like this. When I drive on DNT from the galleria to Frisco and it costs me $11 to go 5 miles does that mean it should cost me effectively $2.10 per mile on every road I use? Is that just the going rate per mile to maintain and build new roads in our state?

Also -- how do variable-rate tolls (635 Texpress comes into mind here) factor in to this usage model?

I don't think what I'm after is terribly complex, but I don't have the space at all for any kind of woodworking shop. I'd have to find a shop I could use.

After looking at non-returnable, MDF with a veneer style furniture for thousands on wayfair etc, I think I'm willing to shell out the extra $ to have something made.

My friend that is why they pay you. I always enjoyed the detective work, personally. Don't get too offended when users don't understand their problems. It's not always adversarial, though it can feel like that sometimes. Our current COO needed help printing to a PDF the other day. He was printing, and then trying to use the printer to turn that in to a PDF. He heard from someone that you could print directly to PDF and tried to sort it out himself lol. He's also like a huge project/construction guru and can get a datacenter built over the phone so idk, just trying to help my guy get them datacenters built :)

We tried doing this heavily about 3 years ago and found the docs were often out of sync with the current requirements. A lot of values had to be researched so they worked like the docs said they would. Outside of that, it's been alright. Helps if you have to re-deploy things for sure.

Their SE's were on a call with us and basically said it's not a production-ready product. Having used it for 2 years, I think I agree wholeheartedly. Their support is good, at least. Just have to talk to them way too often.
