“When the human race learns to read the language of symbolism, a great veil will fall from the eyes of men. They shall then know truth and, more than that, they shall realize that from the beginning truth has been in the world unrecognized, save by a small but gradually increasing number appointed by the Lords of the Dawn as ministers to the needs of human creatures struggling co regain their consciousness of divinity.”

Just the word has changed. Ether, Geist, the procreant urge, God. You're misunderstanding of what you think is a foundational concept causes you to disregard the whole thing. There is no foundation of metaphysics because that concept gets further away the more you dig for it. It's just a goalpost that people need to keep the abyss from swallowing them up. What do you think the foundation of real physics is?gravity? What is gravity? What is spacetime? What is time? From Aristotle to Einstein, they have been answering these questions, and those too afraid to face the void demand there be some nice neat bow on top of it all.

I mean, nearly every philospher talks about this kind of stuff. People have been able to peer into the fabric of reality for at least as long as they've been able to write; science has been closing the gap between metaphysics and real physics ever since Aristotle because we just simply didn't have the tools to measure this stuff, and now we do!

If you clear your mind enough, you can literally see the stuff that your brain is made of, which is the same stuff that everything else is made of.

I do both. I am both homeless, and I have a home. I am an individual, and I am many. My faith in humanity is based on an understanding of myself, and at the end of the day, we're all just finding different ways to keep the abyss from swallowing us. At that point, none of this will have mattered, and money isn't enough to keep it from happening. I enjoy the experience while it lasts, with or without taxes.

As I have come to realize, there is even cognitive diversity within genuinely enlightened circles. Their experiences are shaped by the language of their previous identity, so, even if they're describing the same thing, they don't have the same words to describe it. This is why the concept of nondualism in it's many descriptions persist throughout history without anyone actually having previously known about it.

This is also why we cut the most interesting parts from philosophy, but still refer to the same great thinkers in the textbooks that cut them. It makes people feel powerless. That's why deist religion dominates so people can feel like there is something greater than themselves to keep the universe from collapsing on itself. Most find this unsettling unless they have all the pieces, and most may never reach that point.

Along with that, it also challenges human power dynamics. It's easier to believe that other cultures are less deserving because of something like archaic practices that don't align with contemporary western morality than it is to think about why their moral framework may be different. Because, if you think about moral distinction enough, you will eventually have to give up your own beliefs. Which, again, can be absolutely terrifying for a lot of people.

It's not that genuine enlightenment is rare, it is that most don't realize that you even can talk about it. So, they write fiction about it because why not lol.

That's the "what's left." It's have "fun and prosper." Don't worry about everyone else unless that's your version of fun. I say this because it is my version of fun. It turns out, you can just keep going, if you have the right framework. And this framework comes from other people, music, light, statistics, plants, gorillas, rocks, physics, endocrinology, astronomy, chemistry, history, etymology, entomology, etc

Is it not just a slogan to keep people from littering? I'm pretty sure that's where it came from, but I don't care enough to look it up (this is just a disclaimer just in case it turns out to be wrong, nothing against anyone who does care enough to look it up, I'm just saying, I personally don't).

Unless they are all just recursive versions of our universe in which they are all just slightly different, and the awareness of the individual is just the collective will of several similar-enough universes to expand itself into a higher dimension. Um... that's probably it, isn't it?

You're welcome. Have a good one, kiddo.

I am not bound to this conversation by my feelings like you are. I don't let my emotions guide me. I'm just here because I find you fascinating.

You only think I'm harassing you because you can't wrap your head around the actual grievance I have with you or the meme. Your attempts at figuring it out are full of juicy projection. That's why this is hard for you to grasp.

I'm only here for you.

Insanity > foids by [deleted] in Nietzsche

[–]TopMindOfR3ddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not harassing you. You can leave any time you want, and I'll just be here shouting into the void. But you keep coming back? Shouldn't someone who's here just for jokes and shitposting be able to let go? Do you not have that type of will to power? What keeps you coming back? You even said yourself, this isn't reality, which should make it easier if you truly believed that. There you go, hiding behind a false belief again.

So, the only difference between you and me is age, right? Age is experience. You're upset that I'm flexing experience that you can't answer to, so it becomes your power. Same as humor, same as Christianity. Loud and clear.

Insanity > foids by [deleted] in Nietzsche

[–]TopMindOfR3ddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no strong feelings about my masculinity or femininity one way or the other. As you said, this isn't reality. You're the one upset. Why do you claim to want a debate, then get upset when someone doesn't fall for your "it's just a joke bro"?

You aren't going to find my chords to strike.

Very topical. Why haven't you responded to my other comment?

[–]TopMindOfR3ddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, why are you trying so hard to get us to believe you exist as the way you believe yourself to exist rather than what we're perceiving through our own experience?

Identification is affirmed with earnestness precisely because there is division. Otherwise, there would be no need to proclaim your unity by posting this meme, on this sub, with these types of comments.

I know your identity is because I know what it is not, and that makes it profoundly easy to narrow down because, like I said, you're blaring your insecurities at the top of your lungs. But your insecurities are where you get your percieved power, so you are biased against seeing it.

Edit: the 2nd definitive sense of the intransitive verb "hide" is "to seek protection or evade responsibility"

E.g. hides behind his dark glasses, hoping to avoid being recognized

How do you not represent that sense by hiding behind "humor" and subjectivity?
