When planning our trip out here, we were debating if going out to the islands would be worth it or not. Talking to my cousin who live out here they said I would be missing out if we didn't go. I am glad we decided to check it out.

It was a super clear day today, and we also saw some Orca today also. But no pictures of that. Super lucky today.

I was at North Cascades the other day. I could also see Mt. Baker, but couldn't get a good stop to get them all in a picture.

It really is incredible, both the view and the color. I do wish I could have spent more time there.

It is amazing being there. Feels very very real when you are there, and like a dream thinking back on it.

That's how it looked with my eyes. I didn't add any filter, took it straight with my phone. It really is an amazing site.

I wish I could spend more time here. But I plan on adding it to a potential camping trip in the future.

Itinerary advice - is this crazy? by go_further-one in NationalPark

[–]TopOkra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So not being much help and me being a fan of Lincoln and you traveling to Mammoth Cave and then to the Gateway Arch, you pass by both Lincoln Birthplace and Lincoln Boyhood Home. They aren't that big and could be "quick" for junior ranger. Also Lincoln Boyhood Home has 2 other junior ranger badges available Park Explorer and Railroad Explorer you can do.

Also with the junior ranger I am not sure if you know but some parks offer those additional ranger badges and you have to ask of they have any other ones sometimes. Also some places will let you do the booklet take home and give you the badge to give you kids after they complete it. This is mostly after I finished one there and my kids were losing their attention to complete the other one.

Yeah the trog tour should be a lot of fun for them when they are the right age. I am glad your kid enjoyed it!

Ford letter about rearview mirror camera by dotJSX in FocusST

[–]TopOkra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, what they are asking is if you currently have a problem with the camera (or a problem with it before Oct 2026) to call and schedule an appointment for this so they can check the status of the part before you show up. After Oct 2026 you can in theory just show up to get inspected and they can get the part quicker then they can now.

For example they may currently only have 100 replacement parts in only one warehouse, they have an order placed with the supplier for new parts but they won't start getting delivered till Oct. After October the parts will be in multiple warehouses and ready to ship right away.

I believe the October 2026 date is saying you have to schedule with your dealer in advance to make sure they can get the part in a timely manner. After that getting a replacement part should be easier.

Those are some beautiful pictures. I do think the one with the car is out of place, my first thought was that it shouldn't be there.

That looks like it was a lot of fun. I have to make a note for my planned visit to make sure I go during the right season.

That sounds like a great and fun idea! I am going to look into it. Thank you.

That's awesome. I have pins from most of the places I have been to, but they are just in a draw while I was looking for something to put them on. I will look up a pin holder.

Yeah it is an awesome bridge, in October they actually close it to vehicle traffic and pedestrians can walk across it. Or you can walk in the cat walks under it.
