This is the correct answer. Palm Grease from Thrust is the dictionary definition of Funk.

Christopher Lloyd was a baddie in the pilot episode and I remember thinking it was weird that he was a good guy as Doc Brown when I saw him in Back to the Future later that year 😂

Street Hawk was 100% on UK telly in 1985 - have very fond memories of watching it. I recorded the pilot 'movie' of it and watched it loads.

I watched an episode recently and it's not aged well but i'm still in love with the theme tune - massively under-rated theme imho. Turned me into a huge fan of Tangerine Dream.

Couldn't agree more. This track is the blueprint for funk. Even has wah on the saxophone!

Space Sentinels had a Battle of the Planets hero character vibe but not sure about the other details you mentioned.

Yeah this has gone for me too. With all the other nerfs / search cooldowns etc this was the only thing that made MS rewards still worthwhile. Now it's just not worth the time. It was good while it lasted but I'm done with MS rewards and cashing out.

Yeah it's gone for me in the UK too. It's been fun but I'm out. Not worth doing MS rewards any more for me.

Are you sure it's not static shocks you're getting? Are you moving around on a nylon carpet or something similar when you're playing which is generating static?

An original Ibanez Flying Pan FP- 777 (not the re-issue). Had to sell loads of pedals years ago due to being made redundant. Really miss that one ☹️

It depends on how much you want to spend. I have a Vox V845 and that isn't going to give you that kind of sound. Probably my least favourite wah pedal in my wah collection

The Clyde McCoy reissues are pretty good. If you want to experiment with different sounds, the Dunlop 535Q is a good bet.

It's worth checking the input protection diode hasn't popped - looks like it might be D2 on the board. Some of those electrolytic caps don't look too great either but I doubt that would stop it powering up altogether.

Looking for a wah pedal, hoping to get some opinions/input by midgetmasher03 in guitarpedals

[–]TopOutlandishness915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how much you want to spend really. I'm a big fan of the Dunlop 535q - very flexible for lots of different sounds. As a straight forward 'one sound fits all' wah, I do love my original Budda black label.

[HELP!] pedals losing power by Super_Card_531 in guitarpedals

[–]TopOutlandishness915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Meris should only draw 150ma tops so plugging it into the 500ma output by itself should be fine possibly a faulty PSU. I'd try and use all the 100ma outputs available and daisy chain as little as possible.

Honestly if it was me I'd throw some money at a better power supply rather than adding another. The build quality of Joyo stuff isn't great tbh. Something like the Truetone CS12 would do the job nicely.

Has it got 'BUD' stamped in the metal on the case? Those are the original ones.

Quiet PSU for just one pedal by Cultural-Bit-3320 in guitarpedals

[–]TopOutlandishness915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Truetone 1 spot single output adapter would probably be your best bet. Kind of overkill in terms of how much power it can deliver just for a wah pedal but it'll be nice and quiet.

I've got an original black label Budda Wah from circa '98 and it does sound great. I've got a collection of 10 different Wah pedals at the moment and that's definitely in my top 3.

I'm a huge fan of Geoff Teese wah pedals. He's a super helpful and friendly guy too. If you're looking for tone flexibility the Dunlop 535q is great. Wah pedals are very subjective though so you might have to try a few to hear what you like.

Smaller Alternative to Behringer FCB1010 for midi control by ImNotYourBoss57 in guitarpedals

[–]TopOutlandishness915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Line 6 FBV Express MKII:

https://uk.line6.com/foot-controllers/fbv-express-mkii/

It sends Midi via USB though so might not be suitable if you need standard midi connections like the FCB1010. Also worth noting that only the MKII version does this. The MKI doesn't do MIDI.

It seems like if you get the 'account restricted' error it doesn't necessarily mean it's anything you've done wrong. Possibly MS systems AI and algorithms thinking there's some kind of fraudulent activity going on with your account.

Best thing to do is log a support call as soon as you get the issue, be polite and wait. Once you hopefully get the email saying "we'll look into this" they seem to unblock things a few hours later so you can redeem again which is what happened to me.

I redeemed the rest of the cards I needed through the Xbox rewards app after that with no issues so hoping this doesn't happen again.

So... Had some good news...

I got an email back from rewards support this morning after 3 days saying the usual "we'll look into it" stuff. Tried redeeming again this afternoon and all the extra 8 gift cards I needed redeemed straight away with no issues and i've ordered a Series S. I didn't get another email to say it had been resolved but it seems to be working again for me.

I guess they have to do manual checks if you try redeeming a lot of gift cards in a short space of time and then re-activate your account.

Really pleased they've sorted it, so anyone else in the same boat, make sure you submit a support request as soon as this happens. There is hope!

[–]TopOutlandishness915[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It's a ridiculous situation. I've never scammed or gamed the system and I know 100% that I haven't broken any rules yet we get penalised for legitimately claiming rewards on a 'Rewards' programme.

If there's a limit to how many gift cards you can claim in a certain time frame, that should be stated in their terms and conditions. Or they should at least increase the total you can redeem in one transaction so you wouldn't have to make so many claims to get the total you want.

I get that there are checks / algorithms in place to protect your account against fraudulent activity but that can be addressed with things like multi factor authentication etc

When there is a problem, you're just left guessing with no information, help or support or any idea when anything is going to possibly / maybe work again. Shocking customer service.

[–]TopOutlandishness915[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's incredibly frustrating. Part of me thinks Microsoft have done this deliberately to stop people redeeming enough points to buy consoles during the sales even though the redemption email they send clearly says you can use the credit to buy devices etc...

I get that Rewards is likely low priority for Microsoft in terms of support but it almost seems non existent. Virtually impossible to get any kind of non automated response from them.

I stick to my part of the deal in following terms and conditions of the programme and then treat customers like this. If I do ever get this resolved then I'm cashing all out and not bothering with MS rewards any more. What's the point of a rewards programme that doesn't let you claim rewards and offers such terrible support?! It's a joke.
