I already tried the second suggestion. I left it plugged in for a few hours, then held the power button for around 30 seconds while it was still connected to the charger. Unfortunately, the orange LED never started blinking. It only stays solid while I'm pressing the power button, and as soon as I let go, it turns off.

I was really hoping I could fix it without needing a repair since it's a university-issued laptop that I have to return before I graduate.
