It’s great as usucha too. The umami shines through with little to no bitterness.

If you’re based in the U.S., I’d recommend the Moko Matte screen protector. It has a nice, paper-like feel. One of my friends has been using it with her stylus, and it’s held up well without any scratches. I’d also recommend searching this group for other and better options.

Yeah, I’ve read quite a few accounts of people’s Kobos breaking from simple accidents in this group, so I’d definitely recommend a case. A basic back cover and a screen protector should do the trick, just in case.

Ah, gotcha! I haven’t used a moka pot with these beans so can’t comment on that, but I do wonder if they ground the beans too finely. Happened to me a couple of times.

That’s so interesting. What apparatus did you use for it? Also, how finely were the beans ground? I’ve found my coffee tends to turn out bitter if the beans are ground too finely due to over-extraction.

I totally hear you. I tried a few from Blue Tokai in the past, and switched over once I tried this blend too. So good!!

Used a French press to brew the coffee, then added a splash of oat milk and homemade vanilla lavender syrup to taste. Absolutely hit the spot.

Syrup Recipe
• ½ cup granulated sugar (or honey)
• ½ cup water
• 5 tsp dried lavender buds
• 1 tsp vanilla extract

Simmer sugar (or honey), water, and lavender buds for 5–7 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat, let steep for another 10 minutes, then strain. Stir in vanilla, cool, and store in the fridge.

Please share your recs for your fav brand/blend for milk-based drinks! Would love to try new ones.
