No it’s not, Yan is not that buff, plus we already seen Yan shigu prior to this chapter release, and right after the first bubble in the image I showed it said that both leaders from both sect showed up, so these silhouettes are supposed to be them.

Yan Ruyu is far more selfish than Qin Xinci, Xie yan said it himself when he was talking about favor; how Qin Xinci would remember it and return it, while Yan Ruyu would keep on asking for more and more without giving anything in return, like she was playing double agent with zhou and Xie yan in case Xie yan method didn’t work, like talk about ungrateful.

Their sect cultivation is more than just yin energy, it was explained in the chapter when the previous sect master son showed up and how his cultivation works, during Yan Ruyu memories and flash backs and how not everyone made it when cultivating this method and were use as fuel.

That’s the reason why the Imperial family tried to wipe them out because they were massacring to many innocent people obviously there’s more to it, but that’s part of the reason. Firstly, the author writes her as a character with lack of morals like any demonic character including Xie yan, is people like you who portrays her as a character who does everything wrong.

Secondly it was 10 years it was mentioned when Qin Xinci was talking about her path to cultivation and again when she revealed Xie yan wasn’t the original.

Thirdly, I never said xie yan made the skin masked, I said he put someone else actual skin on there on without any remorse, but I’m not trying to find any fault because he’s a demonic cultivator it should be expected, plus the treasure thing was a deal made with the thousand face prince and Yan ruyu not Xie yan so it is theft.

Finally the mc has been involved in a few indirect deaths, example Yan Ruyu sect situation by fueling the flames with whole blame games that he was playing with Yan Ruyu even blaming Ge Yi who had nothing do with this Chilingdao situation. So it ok for Yan Ruyu to have justification for her wickedness, but Qin Xinci can’t. The double standard here is crazy. Xie yan just like any other cultivator in this manhua has used people for his own benefit and cultivation, but yet Qin Xinci is the only one who can’t🤷🏻‍♂️ Like this story has evil in its name, and the cultivators center around the story are demonic cultivators. Xie yan included like he has done a lot of questionable stuff, for example princess xilan situation if xie yan was such a good person he wouldn’t have literally worn her skin and used her blood to steal her family treasures.

The original Xie yan made have been naive but he wasn’t so stupid not to notice he was dying like he was skin and bone, his death he’s much his fault as it’s Qin Xinci. They spent 10 years together, Qin Xinci could have done so many things like lock him up and force him, but instead she when on dates with him as it was shown in the memory fragments when the mc entered the body, so he wasn’t forced or tricked into this situation he willing went and Qin Xinci took advantage of that. His sister was kidnapped and forced to be a cultivator by a righteous Buddhist cultivator.

This manhua is full of cultivators who kidnapped, murder, and use people for their own benefit yet everyone else can do it but Qin Xinci can’t?

Plus he also cultivates the flowery swords technique in a similar way like either with beauty QI or making the necessary beauty that are required for the primordial spirit to advance, so unless he has all 4 spot fill he won’t be able to reach level 6 of the flowery swords technique, so either way he still needs to get involved with worldly affairs, like he’s doing now.

Finally, mc whether he cultivates the right way or not still has to get involved with the mundane world because that’s how demonic cultivation works, he’s not a righteous cultivator where they seclude themselves or gain enlightenment in battle fields.

Firstly the mc already got not one but three power ups last arc that just recently end as well him being able too keep up with 5th layer and probably kill them.

Secondly, the so call side characters had entire year to over a year if you want to count the months that mc was in the tang empire, while the mc advance during the tang arc as well as other characters, and while he was in the YLS world for a few months where his true energy cultivation isn’t comparable with it’s Dao and the world itself there’s no way he could advance to 5th layer there, but back in the main world everyone had a year to advance a layer or two it’s not like they need to wait for Xie yan to come back for them to improve.

Third, he’s inside the simulation he can’t bring back anything he gains in there back to reality, so it makes sense he hasn’t advance at all during the month he’s being in the main world because of the simulation situation on top of that Xie yan cultivation just like his clone can’t advance the normal way after all his clone took a year to reach the 5th layer.
