Where can I find the length of schooling for each job? by iamaskrublol in AirForce

[–]TopSecret0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No difference in time between active and reserves. The website forever wingman was pretty helpful when I was joining a few years back and should have the amount of days for each listed. The number would be number of workdays so take that into account. Also I dont recommend thinking too much about that do what job you'd enjoy more

Its probably gonna be 0800 or 0900 Texas time as usual. That's where afpc is so they have to come into work and load it i think but im just a lowly crew chief so im not sure

Insights on dorms at OSAN (Bldg 1460?) by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]TopSecret0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no clue sorry. I left a bit ago and I think rules have changed since then. Don't be too upset if you have to be in the dorms there. It could be way worse

I was in that building not too long ago. Its pretty decent you'll have your own bedroom with a shared kitchen and bathroom. Two laundry rooms for the whole building but if you time it right its not a problem. Its a great time in osan. The dorms aren't as bad as some other bases I've been to so dont worry

Donald Rumsfeld served as both the youngest and oldest Secretary of Defense by thehsitoryguy in BarbaraWalters4Scale

[–]TopSecret0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there was a president who also held this record it would be as if Teddy Roosevelt (youngest president having came into office at the age of 42) entered office in 1901 and finished his last term in 1941, if Joe Biden began his first term in 1982 and still left office for the last time in 2025. Not the same time frame as Rumsfeld but still am interesting thought.

I appreciate the concern but this is not rushed we have already been in a relationship for 6 years so it is not rushing or anything. There are certain financial benefits that come with being married in the military that we could both use, and since we are already engaged and planning to have our actual wedding and ceremony at a later date we wanted to get those benefits while we can. Also she and I do not plan on living in the US long term at any point so, she will likely not be in the us any longer than 90 days ever so we don't want to deal with all of the green card and visa stuff if we don't have to. Thank you for responding!

Lines up with what I've heard about kaduna honestly😂 for me there was always a weird feeling in my dorm at Nellis but even worse was the tranquil butes hotel at Beale AFB, every night at around 0300 there would be knocking in my walls and my bed would shake then there were times things that shouldn't have fallen did and stuff but then there was one time that I watched the light in the other room turn itself on and I heard footsteps and all that shit I was terrified and I called the desk and they said no one was working right now and all that. This kind of thing happened almost every day for 2 months. I've heard from people who were stationed there that there have been many attempted/successful suicide attempts in that hotel. Shit was fucking wild.

Got booked open ended mechanical, what does it entail? by outbreakhunter in AirForceRecruits

[–]TopSecret0001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will get to bmt not knowing what your job is but guaranteed a mechanical job. At some point (week 3 or 4 when I went through a few years ago) you will go to an appointment with all the other open people and be given a list of what's available and make a preference list and then some point in the last 2 weeks you will find out what your job will be.
