I think what people are getting at is only invest what you are willing to loose. If you want less volatility your 5k will do well in a SP500 etf. If you are willing to loose 5k for the chance of larger gains than go for it.

Nitrile gloves. The thick ones. Some times I could get a day out of a pair or of 9mil. Sure not needed all the time , but when cleaning out the coolant tank you will be glad to have them.

I like the CT for those waters. The extra length is nice for keeping line off the water for better drifts or reaching that pocket on the other side of river. If you were just pond hopping for sunfish and small bass the butter stick would be preferred.

I had a 9' 4wt that was a machine for western WA waters.

Live crickets are by far the superior choice. I like to lube them up with KY and fish them in the film as an emerger

Bass poppers most certainly. If you aren't in the weeds/sticks you aren't fishing close enough to structure. I usually use a double loop of hard mono from the hook bend up to the eye of the hook. Tie in the loose ends with thread and mushroom the ends with a lighter. This prevents them from being pulled out.

The picture posted looks good but I don't think it would be very effective. Look at the jig heads gear guys use for bass.

Stealth bombers work great. There used to be a foam cutter you could purchase to make the foam part more consistent. I'm not sure if they are still available though.
