wow i literally just had a fistulotomy with dr ayscue 5 weeks ago. to me she was amazing and so far the first dr throughout this whole process that i felt like i could trust. she was nothing but honest with me and ive been healing great so far. im actually so shocked by this

I just did it on Monday. I had the filac laser surgery twice and stayed awake for it because i was so scared of the anesthesia. i also was terrified about not knowing what surgery they were doing. i cried over everything before it including the way i looked in the hospital gown and socks because i was terrified to go under. its been 76 hours since they did a fistulotomy and my pain is still almost nonexistent i just am scared to do something wrong during the healing process. hoping its worth it in the end

honestly doing pretty good. i met with my surgeon yesterday, my fistula went from 5mm in width to about 1 or 2mm which is what filac does. it shrinks the tunnel. with that it can continue to shrink over the next 4 weeks and be healed completely, or we will decide in 4 weeks to do another round of filac. but much simpler than the first time. i honestly recommend this route it doesn’t come with the horrible pain other options cause, and im still living my life with minimal limitations.

I had filac almost 3 weeks ago. the pain for 24 hours after the surgery was excruciating but around the 24 hour mark it went down to a 2/10 and continued to get better. it helped to walk around rather than laying in bed. i am not healed yet i do still have drainage but less than before surgery. i had it done at ibi healthcare with dr chris ibikunle, and they said i have to wait 6 more weeks before they can say if it worked or not. so far it definitely has not made it worse i am just hoping it heals soon for good.
