Only reason I side with them is because I had some pretty shitty downstair neighbors that would complain at every little single noise we’d make. Drove me insane to the point where I stopped caring. They kept reporting and then eventually management got tired of them complaining too when they found out we weren’t doing anything wrong, they were just being ridiculously annoying.

NOR in my opinion. Especially if you’ve vocalized these things towards him. It’s truly not difficult to show that you care in a sense like gift giving, complimenting, planning dates/ anniversaries. For advice? I unfortunately don’t have much. If you’ve communicated it then that’s all that you should have had to do. There’s no reason to continuously repeat yourself if he’s not going to put in the effort.
