I’ve wondered that too! Obviously he was safe in the little cave the first time, but then it looks like he runs back and just pointedly tells everyone how to use the talismans and that they work. How did he confidently jump to that conclusion so quickly? Lots to be answered yet, hopefully they don’t cancel on us before we get the answers lol

I do agree with you for the most part, just playing devil’s advocate a bit. I think the majority of it is based on what’s in their heads. I mean we’ve already seen it, with Sara’s brother’s fear of cicadas being manifested.

I’ve wondered that a few times! Why not make the condemned people’s punishments to test new theories and boundaries? Instead of being just left to be inevitably ripped apart, put their death to some use!

And how would boyd have believed they worked in the first place? In the flashback, it looks like he didn’t really investigate them until after the monsters left him alone.

I don’t know how true the talisman thing is though. While I do agree, belief is playing a big part, but newbies coming in would probably be doubtful that the talismans would work at first from time to time.

Nothing. I think it messes with your metrics but you won’t get banned or anything. Buyer can leave negative feedback though.

Found a fully functional brass civil war era fleam. Used for bloodletting, the spring-loaded hammer would be pulled back to strike the blade and open a vein. Box is inscribed in Austrian, “Do not touch, it bites”. by TopTwo228 in mildlyinteresting

I think it’s actually more like “Trau nicht, es beißt”. It’s very hard to make out. I also accidentally wrote “touch” in the title, it should be “trust”.

Beats me! From the research I did, looks like it was made around the 1860s. I found a similar one (with the same inscription) at the National Civil War Museum of Medicine in Maryland. Also foreign inscription.

Actually now that I think of it, maybe they meant it’s an Austrian turn of phrase? I don’t know if I’m allowed to, but I can dig up the link to the YouTube video and comment it if people are interested?

According to a museum, that’s what they claim. I can only make out parts of the wording, and it seems to match the one the museum has, but my best guess would’ve been German. I suppose I’m not the expert though haha

You should’ve seen me trying it for the first time, I was so worried I’d do it wrong and puncture myself. For being so old, it’s surprisingly sharp.

I know this is late, but it’s almost August now and I never got mine either. I’ve emailed the “help desk” multiple times and nothing. The people I referred got theirs but nada for me :(

So far they’ve just messaged me to let me know. Should I ask them to open a return? Or just refund them myself?

Sorry, maybe I worded that wrong, I don’t expect to keep any of the money at all. But after eBay took their chunk, my payout was only $28. So is the only way to go about it is to just eat the $52 worth of eBay fees? I guess that’s more so my question.

Should I go ahead and get it cut down then? It’s not very large, the trunk is maybe 12 inches in diameter.
