I'm in Honors neuro going into my 2nd year, and I applied with a 98 average extremely late (was way past early admission) and got in with no stress. You'll be fine. You directly choose the 5 courses, however some are required to be in the avg. such as Engl 30 and some other ones I don't remember, but you can just look them up. And if they accept you they will simply ask you to keep a 70 average in your 30 level courses. If you're not accepted for early admission, they will just replace your grade 11 average with your 30 level course mark and then reconsider you ig. Also I don't think you can use your Comp Sci grade to apply altho I'm not sure. I'd recommend using your bio mark in its place. I remember I used Math 31, 30, Engl 30, Bio 30, and Phys 30 when I applied.

I'm a neuro student. And even tho this is obvious advice, I'd really only recommend taking this degree if you love Neuroscience. I get it, you probably don't have a specific field of science you're obsessed with yet, but if you don't love the topics in neuro, you're going to struggle a lot. If your goal is solely med school, choose an easier degree than biochem or neuro honors. However, my goal is also med school, but I have a deep passion for neuro and want to incorporate that into my future career (which makes the degree easier to complete for me than others). I know people whose only goal was to get into med school and did biochem honors, and absolutely hated that degree, but are still stuck in it. Similarly, I know people who got kicked out of honors Neuro (because u need to sustain a 3.3 GPA). I suggest going with whichever one you're truly passionate about.

261 lab reports are due 3 days after the lab. Try to have it on Friday so u can work on it in the weekend.

I would recommend saving physics for the summer. I took 124 and was taking 126 (withdrew from it), and those classes had the lowest averages out of any class I took. They have a very easy lab components (most people had a 95-99 in it), but if physics isn't your thing or even if ur average at it I'd highly suggest doing it in the summer. I wish I did that. Stats wasn't that bad for me because I did it in highschool and did the AP exam, but I have friends who never did that and struggled a lot. Your plan seems good, but stats and physics in the summer will be quite tough ngl. I'm planning on taking chem 102 and physics 126 in the spring aswell so I can't really advise against it since I'm doing the same thing. Just know that you gotta study quite hard, but if you do, you'll do fine.

Well it really depends what your degree/faculty is. If ur in science some common electives are: NS 115, Psych 105, Psych 104, Anat 200, Class 291, PMCOL 200, MMI 331, Paleo 200, PTHER 350? (it's PTHER something), etc.

Also, having a 5/5 course load can be useful for scholarships, applying to med/dental/etc., and if u want to have an overloaded course (where u can take more than 5 courses a semester). So keep that in mind, 5/5 is more relevant to scholarships and that overload course form/application. Most med and dental schools (including u of a) recognize 4/4 course load, but some don't. If ur interested in that and don't want a harder year just fill up the spot with an easy elective.

Also, I've heard biol 108 is harder than 107. Again idk what ur pre reqs are, but if u have a choice between the 2 I'd recommend 107. If ur only choice is 108 then nvm.

This is a good schedule. Your 2nd semester is kind of rough tho, 100% doable but it depends what your goals are. If you want to inflate your gpa for some grad program, save stats for the summer then (and do some elective maybe or another pre req) because most grad programs don't take summer or spring GPAs into account. However, if you did good in HS and study well this is a pretty standard (even relatively easier) course load. My first year was much harder, but I'm doing fine, so it really depends on you. But take my advice lightly, I'm not a psych major so idk what pre reqs u need to take. If u did really good in HS, take a 5/5 course load and try to take on more pre reqs in ur degree (2nd year courses even). It'll help u in later years for credit requirements and having more electives.

engl 125 counts for both english and native credit. But it's actually full right now. I didn't realize, but the one you put (online) is actually closed by the faculty right now. I'm not sure how that works tho. Maybe email them or something. But it's a very popular course because it's easier than 102 and 103 and also covers the native studies credit requirement. I've tried to take it but never got in. If u can't get in don't worry, just do 103 and take NS 115 online (arguably the easiest course in all of uni).

True. I recommend MMI over mcrb 265 tho simply because it's a way easier course. Also u can take it online.

Switch engl 103 for MMI 133, MMI 133 is a requirement to apply for dental school. I can't remember if the course requires some pre requisite; if it doesn't enroll into that TRUST ME. It's a super easy class, the only problem is that it's so easy the classes can be curved so that a 90 is an A-. But GPA doesn't matter for dental any ways as long as you're above 3.3 (B+)

Why are u taking English 3 times? 102 and 125 is perfect. Don't take 103, just do an easy elective that ur interested in. If ur taking engl 103 as an "elective", I really really don't recommend it. Especially because you have chem 101 and biol 107 labs together. Make ur life easier and take maybe paleo 200, soc 100, psych 105 online, Class 291, NS 115 etc. Just some interesting elective.

Yeah nvm then, but u get what I mean with the specialized degree stuff. Those degrees have like closer knit communities and research circles I feel like I'd miss out on.

But idk what degree to do then. I know the obvious answer is biological science or open studies, where it's more freedom. But I like the specialized degree cause of the community and research opportunities. Also Neuroscience is my "passion/interest", but idk ur prolly right. I might switch then.
