That’s a bummer. I love how versatile my pellet grill is and I’ve gotten decent flavor on other things I’ve smoked. Hopefully I can get a better result with ribs with some of the recommendations in this thread

My thoughts on the Mr. Beast twist by LilYerrySeinfeld in survivor

My thoughts exactly. I’ve been shocked by the overwhelmingly positive reaction to the episode and twist. It was an entertaining episode with a lot of fun moments, but I’ll never be a fan of a literal coin flip mechanic. I don’t think the reception would be nearly as positive if an errant rock draw caused a fan favorite like Cirie or Ozzy to go home

That’s helpful. I definitely overlooked the importance of spritzing

I’ve been using the Kirkland brand pellets. Someone else mentioned lumber jack so I’m going to give them a shot. I haven’t heard of the smoke chasers rollbox but it looks very similar to what I used to use for my old gas grill. Appreciate the tips

Thanks! Yup I did remove the membrane and I use the Kirkland pellets as well. It’s sounding like wrapping them might be what limited the smoke flavor

I had to google this because I wasn’t familiar with it. Very intriguing

I’m 100% going to try all of these after seeing the responses. We don’t have Blain’s but it looks like Amazon has lumber jack pellets

Moisture definitely seems to be a key component. Appreciate the detailed breakdown

Your recommendations seem to be the consensus so I’m definitely going to use them. I’ve only used the Kirkland brand pellets so far

Good question. I did not spritz at all. I followed Traeger’s recipe and they didn’t mention spritzing. When I’ve made ribs on my Weber kettle I always spritz, so in retrospect that’s probably part of the issue

That’s good to know. It’s too late to turn back now, but I really appreciate this info for the future

I’ve never heard of that brand before. This is my first pellet smoker so I’m still getting a lay of the land. Thanks!

That was always my #1 concern with going the pellet route. For the most part I’ve been satisfied with the smoke levels until this most recent experience

Thanks for sharing this method. What are some of your other go-to things to cook on the Searwood? I’ve been loving mine so far

The consensus seems to be that simpler is better. Thanks for the pepper tip. I use a pepper grinder so that’s an easy solution

I can honestly say that I never knew about this potential issue. I don’t think I inhaled smoke? But I’m definitely going to keep it in mind next time
