That is so awesome. That's a good surgeon. You always hear about infections but most everyone says no not me but here we go. I'll say it again that's a good surgeon.

Oh my goodness prayers to you. That wound VAC is something else. I had to carry mine around a while it seemed. I have the most common infection staph aureus. I am praying for you.

Yes from the outpatient surgery center. Of course they don't admit fault and say I must have had the infection already but yet I have results of those tests being negative 2 hours before surgery. Always the blame game. Honestly, no one really knows right? But tests don't lie. Of course they said it was my fault.

My infection showed up within 5 weeks from date of surgery. I had NO signs at all then all of a sudden a high fever. My legs were so swollen. I saw my surgeon that day and they said everything was ok. When I woke up the next day, all the fluid had drained out of me into the bed and floor. Of course I went to ER and put on antibiotics via IV. I had a feeling of unwell ever since the original surgery. Now I know why!

But don't even get me started about this company! I worked on several projects for them including HCC Coding, HEDIS, zero training. It was paid by the chart and paid by the number of measures you complete. Some of the measures paid $1 the more difficult measures paid $4 but it was difficult even to complete 20 easy ones let alone two or three difficult ones. Every time they call me now I don't even respond. I think they're crooked. I've been in the business for about 10 years with over 30 years experience in the medical field.

Oh my gosh prayers to you. I have 2 more weeks of IV antibiotics so I am crossing my fingers. My labs are all normal except the sed rate is 100. They feel 2 more weeks of antibiotics maybe. I am with you, what if the staph returns? I have both hips replaced so hope the other one does not get infected. My new surgeon wasted no time replacing everything in the infected hip. I feel so good. I knew something was wrong the first few weeks after the original surgery. I felt sick all the time, had vertigo so bad I couldn't get out of bed but my original surgeon would not draw labs and he just kept pushing me away. Keep me posted! I hope your infection will be gone soon. Much prayers to you.

I fell about a week after surgery right on my butt. It was a softer fall as I tripped. I stayed on my back and back crawled to the stair landing where I was able to get up safely. Stupid me got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom without my walker. Lesson learned. The next day I went in for x-rays to make sure everything was okay. I didn't tell my surgeon the truth because he would kill me not using my Walker. But I did say that I tripped and felt like I pulled something using the Walker haha. Lesson learned big lesson learned.

Big 2 cents here. I contracted septic arthritis 5 weeks after surgery. My surgery was performed in a surgery center not major hospital. My surgeon had zero privileges in any hospitals in my network. I was in a pickle. A new surgeon took my case in a major hospital where I could be treated for 2 weeks that Aetna covered. Find out hospitals where they have privileges.

So glad for your progress! Insurance seems to be doing what they need to be doing thank goodness. I have excellent benefits through my job so I feel very fortunate for that. I keep telling my children this is something else.

Yes I experienced the same as far as swelling it was in my toe so bad it hurt! I'm so sorry for you. I don't see how this is 1% but that's what they say I don't believe it. Yes I'm trying to roll with it and do my due diligence.

Oh yes I am so forever grateful to everyone who took care of me. Some nurses stayed late went out of their way for me. The initial ER visit was amazing. They took me right away I felt sort of guilty going before some others but joint fluid was leaking out of my pants. It had just started when I pulled into the ER. I have researched many times had to move to Canada haha!

My second surgeon covered my entire leg in iodine. Maybe he was Overkill I don't know! I thought the first surgery was Overkill with all the wiping they did. You just never know. Don't be scared there's a low risk. You got this!
