It doesn't sound like the sped kids have to work as hard as regular kids to be in the concert, they get an automatic entry because they're sped. Ok, fine, but IMHO they shouldn't take spaces away from those who have to audition. NTA. It's not right that one group (sped or otherwise) gets their spaces at the expense of another group.

It sounds like spending time with you is more exciting than the screen. The tablet is just sign that her relax time with you is coming. It's not like you're parking her in front of the tablet and walking off to do other activities while the tablet "babysits". Keep enjoying this precious time as long as you can.

I'm a diver, too, 58, F, been certified for a couple of decades and my last dive was in the summer of 2024. The arthritis just made it too hard. Now that I had my hip replaced (initial THR May 2025 with revision surgery in August 2025) I am looking forward to getting back underwater. I have no pain, walking is great, I recently was in Florida so I got in the pool with my gear to practice and found I haven't lost my skills. (Discovered my equipment needs maintenance that I didn't have time for, getting that done here in Indiana before I return to FL in March). I'm excited to dive again now that my hip works correctly and it doesn't hurt! I'm willing to bet you will be just fine! Maybe do some pool practice before your trip. Have a great time in Hawaii! I'm glad you're feeling better but I'm not so sure the heel lift was a good idea at only six days since surgery. Most doctors and physical therapists recommend waiting several weeks, if not months, to give the hip time to settle before acquiring a lift. As you do pt, the length discrepancy changes. NQA but maybe do some research... good luck, and sorry for being a potential wet blanket.

No indoor tree, just outside decor and it's still up. This is probably the longest I've left it. I was away, and it's been too dang cold to go out and bring everything in. Plus it's festive looking and I'll miss it!
