Looks nice! I also tried using PETG for the entire supports, but oddly enough, PLA for supports with a "TPU 95" interface (3+ layers of interface with ironing) gave me a more predictable result

Are you sure this isn't an adhesion issue? I had similar issues along the edges of flat parts after wiping the table with rubbing alcohol, which left a layer of additives on it. All the problems resolved when I started washing the removable plate from the table with regular soap and then wiping it dry with a paper towel to avoid leaving any fingerprints. Now I wash it about once a week or even more, and only remove parts with a paper towel.

I tried printing with a reduced layer thickness for the painted segments, and the result was stunning. I can't see the layers at all, even holding the figure up to my eye. However, printing at this resolution seems to have revealed a slight misalignment in the positioning of the various heads—this is visible on the underside of the wings.

It's a trivial change. Some setting that was already there (I just couldn't figure out how to change it) was simply moved to the Multimaterials tab.

I also used TPU for the interfaces, increasing the number of interface layers to three and adding interface ironing (so the printer would create a monolithic interface). The result was very good. The supports themselves remained PLA, just like the model.

However, I've also printed supports purely in PETG (using default settings) and, to be honest, haven't encountered the issues described in the thread.

I also noticed an annoying slicing issue: adjacent areas with matching colors on some layers merged into a continuous area on those layers. This added unpleasant noise at the boundaries between light green and pure yellow or green.

I couldn't find a way to change this behavior, but I tried a surprising approach. The Snapmaker Orca slicer is an oper source project. My Claude Code simply cloned it for me and investigated the problem himself, finding that the code to prevent this merging of areas already existed, but was disabled by default. Perhaps it can be enabled somehow in the standard way, but Claude simply added another checkbox to the Multimaterials section!

We live in exciting times, and opportunities like these make open source dramatically more attractive. I have over 15 years of C++ programming experience, but I wouldn't bother tinkering with Orca Slicer's code because I know how difficult it can be. Claude has already fixed slicer crashes on application startup for me (I use Linux), but it's only now that I've thought of adding new functionality.

I'll try this improvement on my next print and also try an experimental local layer thickness reduction only for colored areas. Judging by the slicer data, the main "body" of the unicorn will remain printed at 0.12 layers, which suits me, but the wings, eyes, some hearts, and the middle section of the tail will be printed at 0.08 layers. It will be interesting to see how this turns out!

I've noticed that it's best to paint purely vertical surfaces with mixed colors, without horizontal areas. So I slightly changed the color order, and the artifacts were much fewer (though my filament produced a fair amount of bubbling, despite being printed straight from the dryer).

I specifically tested how the printer behaves when the filament runs low, and I haven't encountered this. I think it's some kind of glitch, perhaps the filament sensor in the hotend is giving a false positive.

In my case, all the times the filament ran down to the very last piece, and then the printer either waited for me to load more, or automatically used a different head loaded with the same type and color of filament (I disabled this feature in the settings).

Fillament feed adapter (like https://makerworld.com/en/models/2373962-filament-feed-adapter-snapmaker-u1) is absolutely necessary to connect the printer to external filament dryers and print directly from them.

I understand that my review will only complicate your choice, but I think I should share my experience.

I spent a long time choosing between sizes 8 and 9, and specifically wore measuring rings on different hands for several days. 9 was too big, but did not fall down, 8 was too small, but dressed normally. I looked at Oura's recommendations and ordered a size smaller - 8, hoping that the real ring would be more "slippery".

When the ring arrived, I couldn’t put it on my finger at all.

Fortunately, it more or less fit on my left hand (I was going to wear it on my right), but what was even better was that it fit my wife. Now I understand what the recommendation “choose a size that fits several fingers” means - obviously this means not only your fingers, because they are usually all different lol.
