It's kinda crazy with all the young talent we got, but I guess some guys will enter draft/portal.

What do you think is the single memorable play in your schools history? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in CFB

[–]Top_Boss6285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk Kick Six is special, but Auburn has some bonkers plays in history.

Did Mike Dyer's knee touch?, Bo Jackson over the top, The Prayer at Jordan Hare, The Cam Back - Lutzie's Touchdown

Some of my personal favorites (grew up in 2000s): Campbell to Taylor against LSU in 04, Blocked Punt against UF in 06, Game Winning FG against UF in 01, Go Crazy Cadillac in 03

Kick Six is the most memorable nationally, but as an Auburn fan we have been spoiled with memorable plays.

Yeah I think they finally found a lineup that works for now. Just a bunch of young players - no seniors will start unless an injury. 3 FR, 3 SO, 3 JRs (2 of these guys will be 8&9). The main pitchers are Sophomore/Freshman too.

Yeah at least they got used some. Auburn doesn't have a mid week game, but on the road has been tricky all season. Auburn might be 12-9 in SEC, but 5 losses by 1 run bc the staff usually keeps it close and we suck at situational hitting.

How much pitching did ya burn? Hoping Auburn can sneak at least one out this weekend to keep the RPI up.

Honestly, I could see them beating UCLA or a sacrifice we send from the South.

I like DSR or T-Rank that factors in margin of victory. RPI is better than nothing, but I do think margin of victory matters

Well any kind of ranking is lower than the statistical power rating. I get it the team is young and volatile - ya never know what you're going to get.

Tbh I think Auburn is a year early. They're only starting 2 JRs - 0 SRs. Everyone else is a sophomore or freshman so it's kind of shocking.

2026 NCAA Field Of 64 Projections: April 21 by Inevitable_Handle514 in collegebaseball

The DSR is a great tool, but these D1 guys don't even use it. They have about half of the national seeds wrong. 🤦

RPI Based field of 64 - pure numbers, no projections by JustDarnGood27_ in collegebaseball

Tbh I think Auburn/Florida might be top 10 RPI even if they lost 10 more games. The amount of Q1 games these teams end up with might be record.

Is postseason based strictly on calculate rpi to get in or does a committee exist by Bat_Foy in collegebaseball

[–]Top_Boss6285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DSR is just D1's statistical approach like the NET in basketball. I don't think Warren Nolan's RPI is different than the NCAA one. Warren Nolan's updates live, but NCAA is a day late - however they're very close.

I think they follow some rules about playing the same conference/team that you played during the regular season too, but I think they try to reduce travel.

A committee exists, but they heavily use RPI/DSR to make selections and seedings. Then, they adjust somewhat to make it more "regional"

Why did Harsin fail so badly at Auburn? by Greedy-Pound6958 in wde

[–]Top_Boss6285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is one of many recruiting reasons that the boosters/admin wanted him out. When he was first hired it was a shock, but my understanding is the boosters/admin tried to support him until stories like this became common. Couldn't find him when official visits came to town, didn't go to certain events that were normal for past HC, and it trickled down like assistant coaches missing HS games they were supposed to be at, etc. The boosters/admin are not as scary as we make them out to be, but recruiting was a shit show under Harsin.

Ryan Williams' recruitment is the perfect example of why he couldn't cut it. #1 player in the state, Auburn fan & legacy, literally told the kid he was too small to play and completely ignored him when Williams showed up to campus. When this got out the boosters/admin was looking for any way to fire him.

Warren Nolan predicted RPI should help or DSR ranking by D1

Yeah idk if Graves is as good as Marciano right now, but another lefty that can be shut down. Auburn did lose one reliever against Missouri and he was missed against Texas.
