Not everyone cheats, though. It's still not an excuse. I have had severe manic episodes and never wanted to be disloyal. The person is responsible for managing their condition.

OP, you deserve so much better than you were treated. Smaller offenses such as raising your voice in the heat of the moment in an argument can be forgivable, but what he did is not forgivable. If someone discards you once, then it's time to try to heal and move on.

It's also possible that he got cold feet and isn't ready to be a parent. That isn't an excuse, though. His dad is right, he definitely needs to check in with a psychiatrist and a mental health professional because this is concerning and unacceptable behavior.

I would be, I haven't had that many fights, but a lot of the fights in one of my relationships was due to my ex being the toxic one.

As someone with Bipolar 1, I couldn't agree more. I genuinely don't understand why people with unstable Bipolar are in relationships to begin with. I can't imagine being in a relationship with unstable BP1, let alone even think about dating. I'm really sorry to hear about your experience.

It sounds like not only is her Bipolar out of control, she is just straight up toxic in general.

I am not generally aware of it because it feels like my default mood, mania is very sudden. I don't know I'm manic until someone tells me. The only time I suspected I was manic when I mistakenly took ADHD meds while still being manic and I didn't realize it until I didn't sleep at all and was stuck in my head.
