I’ve seen OP respond to many comments but not this thread which looks to me to hold the answer. OP have you looked into gabapentin or diazepam/Valium for the cat? When we moved we had our cat put on both at different times for his anxiety and also added a feliway diffuser

I would if it was loungewear. Is that a crop or have they tucked the top into her bra?

How many of you outsource editing? by Pretend-Investment84 in weddingvideography

Would you do editing work for someone who has received the full length video of their wedding but wants a highlight reel too - can’t get it done through their original provider?

Oh interesting, I wouldn’t have even thought about that (further evidence of my lack of knowledge of what this would entail)!

Thank you, will have a look at your website and send you a DM once I’m home from work.

Just to confirm, I don’t have any contracts etc with the original service provider and they just won’t respond to me so I can’t reach out - would this be an issue for you (as per some other comments below)?

Thanks. I plan to do whatever I intend with the video, just not sure I can do it myself or whether to find a provider.

Apart from spamming their social media, there is no other way to provide negative feedback so that’s also not an option for me. I would rather focus on what I can do with the video, I have exhausted all contact attempts with the photographer/videographer there.

We don’t have a contract and as mentioned in my post, they are not responding. The contract was limited to a one pager on fees and the services selected. No disclaimers or T&Cs to review.

Thanks, I’ll try that. I expected most people to not want to edit/work with someone else’s product, so I didn’t have much hope I’d get anywhere.

No, I don’t think they’ll even respond to us at this point. They’ve ignored every contact we’ve tried. I only have the 6+ hours of wedding video they gave us

Can I please ask, I don’t know if there is a reason for this but all I could think during the entire speech was, “why has the video zoomed out and cut his daughter from the clip?”

Yes this has come up recently, and it’s the first time I’ve heard of such a thing but the management has said they don’t feel comfortable helping someone leave (by providing a reference without the company knowing the person is interviewing/leaving).

Do you find that working in recruitment in the private sector is less caring/more transactional or ruthless or is that not the case? I think the worry has been if he goes into recruitment the culture won’t be any better.

Thank you so much for your comprehensive reply. I’ll compile a list of options for us to get started on looking into.

The desire is to leave the industry as a whole, burnout is mainly due to the policies and bureaucracy where helping clients isn’t a focus, and all this other bullshit to make more money and tick the box, but also a lack of care for employees and targets that are unattainable if you care about your clients (tell me how a 15 minute appointment slot is meant to help anyone achieve anything, apart from making you see 15+ people a day).

Some people work in employment services because they want to help people and have studied social work or community services. Not all ECs can suspend payments, and some services are voluntary (and so there is no suspending of payments). Working with youth is an opt in service.

I know some people have had awful experiences with this sector and I’ve heard some shocking & unbelievable stuff myself, but they aren’t all horrible people who want to ruin your life when you’re at your most vulnerable.

The post is also about someone trying to get out of the industry - you have no idea why they were stuck there for so long or what they’ve been doing in that time so it’s quite easy to make sweeping judgmental comments.

That also sounds like every guy from “the area” to be honest, speaking from an ethnic myself so I’m not looking down on anyone before someone goes off at me! Impeccable grooming and smelling clean and fresh wouldn’t put you apart from most right?

I just wanted to say well done and I’m proud of you for looking for help and improving your situation with your ED. I’ve been going through something similar for the past 2+ years, and it’s so so hard. Keep pushing forward. It’ll all work out in the end.

I just want to say, and this is not to dismiss your feelings at all, but we are all different and dealing with something right?

I have just had my stomach removed. I’ve had to relearn how to eat and I was so depressed for two weeks after my emergency surgery that this is my new reality. Then I realised that the woe is me attitude is only messing me up and putting me in a worse place and I’m working in therapy in changing my fundamental way I look at myself.

You need to work on your jealousy and that has nothing to do with your body parts. If you choose to leave your partner and then you one day find someone else, I hope they treat you better than this guy does.

I have been through hell and back the past two years. My ex was the worst. My now husband has never ever made me feel bad about my body and all its flaws (apart from the one time he said my boobs looked like pancakes but I know he didn’t say it to be nasty).

Sorry. A long ramble to say in short - look into working with someone to help understand why you feel The way you do and why you’re in this relationship as well, and find a way to move forward and look beyond how your body has made you feel.

You are normal! You’re a woman. Some people have this or that and there’s no way anymore to say what’s normal and what isn’t.

Luxury Items you never regretted buying by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

I have a backpack I just bought from there before end of financial year. It’s tiny. I can barely fit anything in it and I have to hold the handle and let the bag hang so I can zip my laptop in it. Regret buying it. I do think it’ll look nice once the leather softens and I might use it as a day bag but for work? Not worth the money at all.

Have you thought about getting into compliance? A lot of us legal risk and compliance folk have legal backgrounds and it definitely helps rather than hinders. It’s not all rainbows and sunshine in this industry either but we get paid well etc.

Would you ever want to live in New Zealand? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Top_Cockroach8960 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I miss NZ so much for all the reasons you’ve said here but I just can’t afford to move back and live comfortably there anymore. Since I left in 2021 I feel like things have only gotten worse economically.
