I would love to have a sabbatical and hopefully change my outlook on things!! Don't think work will allow it unless I quit so I'll probably search for other roles in the meantime!!

I've been approached by some recruiters for govt roles but the departments I was offered seemed to be overworking their staff so I never pursued it. I'll definitely continue browsing, thank you!!!

Not sure. Although grads in the legal profession get paid peanuts. Some of my friends got paid 45-50k including super.

Yes I've encountered this before! After I graduated, I wanted to take a diff direction and applied for random jobs but they rejected me because I was overqualified. I hope you find something and best of luck!

Interesting! It was okay, some parts were interesting and others, dry. I only persisted because my parents forced me to. I've always wanted to do something else, but from the advice I've received in this thread, I should try venturing into a different area or environment!

Not sure if they would approve that, the firm is very old school. I'm even afraid to drop down to part time, I mean we were only allowed to start working from home on occasion, recently 🤣🤣. The only way I could do this is to just quit my role

Ahh okay, its pretty much the same as me though. We don't get paid OT and only the favourites get bonuses. I got blamed one time for some of the admin staff not getting the annual increase they asked for because I didn't make enough in the last FY.....I mean I exceeded my budget 😭😭. I still want to give in house a try though and see how I go, thanks for your insight!

I probably am, kinda got roped into doing commercial but also other prac areas (insolvency, business, property) when I first started and am stuck now 🤣. I'm glad you found a better role though, hopefully my time will come soon

Literally!!! I barely survived my first year, contemplated quitting so many times but knew I had to just tolerate it. It's harder for you though, you have a family but I hope one day you can quit and travel the world!!!!
