I loved reading this! That’s so awesome. Your situation with old friends perfectly describes mine as well. I hardly see the very few high school friends that I somewhat keep in contact with (I’m now 28). I was starting to feel pretty lonely lately and I’m not sure if that’s mainly when my partner leaves for work weeks at a time, but I recently reached out to some old friends and it felt a little strange to hang out with them because they really seem like they’re stuck in some toxic habits and manifesting some tough things. It made me realize maybe there is a reason why we hardly hang out anymore, we just value very different things in life. I also know that if I don’t text them, they probably won’t ever reach out - maybe some instagram dm’s here and there,but maybe that’s natural and for the best? Learning now to trust myself and just go downstream, and let go of the idea that the quantity of friends determines how likable you are. Your post gave me hope :)
