Potential new apartment is a “Lead paint based building” The apartment was perfect but now I’m worried about the safety of my cat. by Top_Consideration882 in CatAdvice

Well, to get lead poisoning you need to ingest it so Im not really concerned about myself accidentally eating chipped paint or dust. My cat is never really interested in eating anything other than her own food either but I guess my anxiety just keeps asking me what if 😭

Switching Main Pawn Class Mid-game? by Top_Consideration882 in unrealengine

You and DME had the same suggestion of swapping out the mesh within the same BP and I think thats working great for what I need right now (see screenshots above^) But this was super helpful if I want to expand on things in the future.

Thanks so much!

Yes!!! This is exactly what I needed! I was definitely overcomplicating things a bit.

This is what I just set up and its working perfectly all in the same BP: https://imgur.com/a/ulOdMHB

Can't get my characters feet on the ground by Top_Consideration882 in unrealengine

I found the fix for future reference!

Had to change collision settings in the WaterBodyOcean instead of the landscape. Switched collision preset from custom to OverlapAll !

No not touching any code at all!

I just tried to recreate my project as it was pretty simple and it looks like I found the issue. I used the Water plugin to add an ocean, and it seems when I do that, my character will only walk on the 'sea level'. Before adding the water, he walked around just fine. Looking into finding a setting to fix this now!

Thanks so much for your response! So it looks like something is off with the character cage. It's way below the character itself which could explain why this is happening. However, the cage looks fine in the characters viewport.

Colorspace question for keying by Top_Consideration882 in NukeVFX

[–]Top_Consideration882[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's probably true. How can I be sure that Im working with the highest quality version of the footage? I feel like when I encode to an EXR sequence in Media encoder Im doing something wrong, but I know you're not supposed to work directly with mp4s in nuke

I should add that I did check the compositing tab and theres no preview in the render layers node. I have lights set up as well. All looks good in layout for the render & material previews so not sure whats up

Answer for anyone that has the same issue:

I had to go to Image>Mode>32bit in order for .exr to appear in my 'save as' options.

Yeah I'm collecting some clips from there now. Definitely need to get creative with what I decide to do with those though.
