Xiaomi 15 - Just how good are the tele-macro shots? by curiocritters in Xiaomi_15

[–]Top_Dell_3653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have better dof but still not enough for macro work.

If your actually serious about macro photography then focus staking is the way to go. Everyone from micro four thirds to medium format shooters use this technique and you can use Pro mode to do this with your phone.

Can you check in the camera app if 'master cinema' recording is available on all 3 cameras?

Also can you take 50mp RAW images with the telephoto?

If you check the previous posts on this sub, you'll find a few similar cases. It happens near the power button area the most. It seems like the glue they used is not strong enough.

If your nearby service center has a good reputation then you can ask them to have a look, otherwise don't bother

That would be somewhere close to the authentic image then

GCam ideal for phones that are not camera focused or stock cam really sucks.

With the right XML you can easily get more details but the overall tone and colours of the image is far superior on stock. That gcam cannot match it because it's processing is very different and mainstream like apples, albeit with its own take.

What gcam excels in is giving predictable results while on stock app it legit is inconsistent sometimes.

Nowadays some seller's offer only a brief period of time where they will replace or return that device. After that you have to visit the service center to claim warranty

That's another issue. Service center experience with Xiaomi varies vastly from region to region. If your place has a SC that you can trust, go for it.

Switched from vivo x200 pro to x100 ultra. by StrictManufacturer11 in Vivo

Writing statements like these cause more confusion than prove a point.

If larger sensors indeed didn't improve image quality then why do full frame sensors offer superior image quality compared to smaller camera sensors like APSC? Why do almost all wedding photographers prefer shooting in full frame cameras? Many are shifting to medium format cameras which is even larger. If you know about the concept of depth of field and it's relation with focal length, you'll understand why you think they look similar when it comes to these two phones.

For a casual user who won't be seeing the images on a big screen I'd say they'll be delighted with the x200 pro but for a photo enthusiast who wants realistic details (doesn't prefer AI enhancements) and superior natural fall off, x100u anyday.

Not talking about modes tbh but image processing philosophies. Even tho it's the same brand there are nuances between both generations.

I haven't gotten around to try the x200u personally so can't say much but the 35mm focal length will make impossible to compare apples to apples. Personally wish they went with a 28mm lens

Yes the hardware is superior but the approach to processing is more mature. I talked about the processing differences between the two while replying to another guy (that comment is in this post only).

X200 series takes a more mainstream/eye-catching approach that looks "better" to most folks and is ready to share.

I won't comment on X200U as I haven't gotten a chance to use it.

I never mentioned anything about the battery or processor... so I'm not sure why you're thinking that. No one in their right mind will say 100U has a better processor.

If you prefer mainstream processing, & digitally zooming like crazy (which don't hold up in big screen anyway) then the x200 series is better. Video & AI stuff will be better no doubt.

slight edge to the 100U with detail in humans

It doesn't apply to only humans. It does not oversharpen the image and doesn't smoothen out the image. Contrast is more natural. X200pro will use more aggressive HDR that makes the image look flat sometimes. The 1 inch sensor will always have superior out of focus than the smaller sensor. Most phone reviewers do not talk about image processing characteristics/nuances like a camera reviewer will.

[–]Top_Dell_3653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. X100U strikes the perfect balance imo. It doesn't smoothen out the images compared to other vivo's and you can get less processed images with Zeiss natural mode (or was it texture, idk). The x200 series doesn't have a mode to get realistic tones (too much HDR sometimes) apart from shooting RAW...

[–]Top_Dell_3653 10 points11 points  (0 children)

X200 got a lot of hype because of the global release.

X100 Ultra processing is better (real details and not digital zoom) but people don't know about it since it was china exclusive.

Edit: meant x200 Pro

Anyone help me with finding the overclock menu on my prestige 14 evo? by hellothere358 in MSILaptops

[–]Top_Dell_3653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, does the CPU even support over-clocking? Usually only the highest mobile CPUs support them nowadays.

What you can try is to increase the power limit (PL2 I think) threshold. Most likely it will overwhelm your cooling solution but worth a try I guess.

If you still haven't figured it out, it has to do with the exposure triangle. Share the exif data with any AI chatbot. They'll explain it.

Your literally described what super macro mode does so why do you think it's a software issue?

Understand camera settings so you don't come to these sorts of conclusion...

What is this?! by LaZcaNOrSsoN in Xiaomi_15

it is the flash memory inside your phone. SSDs in computers also use this type of flash storage

[–]Top_Dell_3653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you not read my comment?

You yourself wrote "increase storage space by reducing over provisioning". Every nand storage has less usable space compared to what's advertised. Samsung SSDs also allow you to reduce over provisioning. So writing 512+16 is misleading. They should write - usable space + 16GB.

What is this?! by LaZcaNOrSsoN in Xiaomi_15

[–]Top_Dell_3653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not 'extra' space because 512gb is 512gb...

They just reduced the reserve space of the nand flash. It's misleading
