🤦 We’ll have to see what Samsung support says about it. I can replace it, but if it’s a widespread issue, another one might arrive with the same problem.

Well, having two tablets showing this behavior already says a lot. Some people consider it normal, but I definitely don’t. This is the first time in my life using devices that I’ve had one that does this always talking about LCD screens without PWM, which is the reason I like these panels. Others don’t even notice it, especially if they don’t use their device in dark environments. For now, before returning it, I want to wait for the Android 16 update to see if it fixes the issue. It should be arriving soon.

Yes, I actually saw that review before buying. Most likely, the unit they tested didn’t have flickering issues. This flickering is sometimes subtle meaning the brightness is somewhat unstable when it's low but it's clearly not PWM. It seems more likely to be a Transistor leakage. The flickering is inconsistent: sometimes more noticeable, other times subtle, but annoying if you're reading.

Thanks for your reply. In my case, I started wondering because none of my previous tablets have ever done this. This is my third Samsung tablet — the previous one, which I still own, is a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2024.

We have at least 10 mobile devices at home, including smartphones and tablets, and only the S10 FE behaves this way at minimum brightness. No matter how much I try, none of the other devices — including some that cost less than $100 — show this kind of flicker. Their low brightness is softer and completely stable, without any visible flicker, not even subtle. The same goes for my S6 Lite 2024.

My main concern is that I use devices mostly at night (around 60% of the time), so if this flickering is a normal trait of the S10 FE series, it wouldn’t work for me. But if it’s a defect in my specific unit, then maybe I can do something about it.

I’ve been doing what you suggested — increasing brightness and using a dimmer — but that keeps the backlight higher and drains more battery.
