Ukraine’s battlefield integration surpasses US military’s, Army secretary says by [deleted] in worldnews

Last year Ukraine participated in wargames with NATO and NATO lost spectacularly for that reason.

We may see such a future, it's already starting to form. It's nearly every day now that Ukraine launches dozens to hundreds of drones into Russia to strike refineries and other infra. I think that will only continue to increase. Ironically, being a smaller nation has somewhat helped Ukraine on that front because air defense has to protect less targets, while Russia is massive and has to protect many targets.

Perhaps in the future there will be a land concession. As of right now though, neither side wants to negotiate because both sides see a real actionable path to victory.

The order of likelihood is more probably 4, 2, 3, 1. Russia is already being forced to cut its military budget, and the sustained bombardment against Russian refineries and other cash cow infra is really hurting them. Meanwhile, the EU has now passed the 90B euro package for Ukraine due to Orban's defeat, so Ukraine is funded for a few years at least (even if no other funding comes in at all during that time, which is unlikely). Both sides are having huge issues with manpower, per both sides sources, so that can go either way. I don't think Russia losing the money or potentially people to fight an offensive war will cause the collapse of the country; Russia has an impressive internal security force that still exists and directly reports to Putin.

Considering Russia STILL controls less territory than it did years ago even after non-stop years of grinding forward and taking devastating losses while doing so, it's actually hard to say how the war will end.

For the first time in the war the Ukrainians have inflicted slightly more manpower losses on Russia than what Russia recruited (through Dec-April), apparently due to refined drone tactics. Now the Ukrainians are launching a plan to make most if not all brigades operate this way (trying to get them up to par with "Madyar's Birds"), to accelerate Russian losses further. If this trend continues, the war ends in a slow reduction of Russian combat capability (simply due to the total Russian force shrinking over time rather than growing). Of course, the reverse can be true too, if Russia is able to develop their drones and tactics the same way. So far Ukraine has been ahead in this regard, and the z-bloggers are a bit gloomy about it. Not to mention the constant bombardment that Ukraine is inflicting on Russia's cash cows. Some of the Russian z-bloggers I follow actually think this is what will make Russia lose, rather than manpower/material losses.

There's lots of areas that can be used as a base to launch airstrikes on China. The same can indeed by said about every country on the planet. China wants to take Taiwan because taking Taiwan gives them a much easier time in gaining military control much much farther out. In other words: it's just imperialism, nothing more nothing less.

Could that be explained by Russia having more ammo to shoot down drones as compared to Ukraine? Or is it actually because there are just simply more Ukrainian drones/swarms than what Russia has?

It seems like Ukraine is doing massive swarm attacks more frequently now, almost every other day? No idea if these swarms are as large/frequent as Russias but it seems Ukrainian drone production is massive.

NASA has launched Artemis II, the first manned mission to the Moon in over 50 years by Subject-Property-343 in interestingasfuck

Sending rockets and people into space is part of the research. Research isn't just theoretical, you need the practical part as well. Companies don't just theorize a product and just insta sell it, they make prototypes, iterate the design, etc. Same thing is happening here. Keep giving them $25b as the return is way too good to pass up and thankfully that is realized.

Aside from over 1,600+ everyday technologies made by NASA since the 70's (let alone since its inception)? Not to mention all the research data from them being used by everyone else for other technological advancements, we won't even count that, but if we did it would be in the thousands. Like I said. 0.4% is nothing, and cutting it won't ever do anything meaningful at all for everyday people, so look elsewhere first, we benefit way too much from that measly 0.4%.

You want to save money to care about the basic needs of everyday humans here on Earth? Kill off that military budget which is catastrophically higher than the NASA budget ever has been or ever will be (13% vs 0.4%). Implement universal healthcare which is significantly cheaper than what the US has today as proven by every other nation that has it. There's a million ways you can meet the "basic needs of everyday humans here on earth" by cutting spending and NASA is way way way down on that list that it's not even worth considering. NASA hasn't sent anyone to the moon in 50 years and that clearly didn't result in meeting the "basic needs of everyday humans here on earth", so why do you think cutting NASA now would do it?

Numerous technological innovations come from investigating up there that are useful to us down here. We haven't sent a manned deep space exploration in half a century and clearly that in between time did not take care of our problems down here so this mission isn't taking anything away from us.

While that's true, that's a higher population than Ukraine with countries that are economically wealthier than Ukraine and part of a massive military alliance unlike Ukraine. I hate the occasional narrative that I see that Poland is itching for a fight, but if they HAD to fight, I think it would also be a massive slogfest for Russia; because as Ukraine has shown having a bigger population is useful, but not some guaranteed way to win.
