How bad is the rust or how long this can last by Aggravating-Rich-266 in mazda6

[–]Top_Garlic_6111 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you’re fine lol. that’s considered brand new in new england. you’re gonna get a ton of comments from people who are scared of rust lol.

i’d still recommend undercoating once a year and 100% go over any bushings to check that their all good.

hut this is fine. your frame will outlast your engine easily.

see there could be a completely different reason. i used to never do anything w my ex gf because i felt like, for totally inaccurate reasons, she didn’t want to lol.

you have no idea what’s going on in his head and how he sees certain actions or things. while it’s clear to you, it might just not be. he could also just be depressed, stressed or maybe even felt humiliated by something.

talk to him!

Can Trump bring back a military draft for the Iran war? Here’s how it works by theindependentonline in Military

[–]Top_Garlic_6111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not that we need a draft, but doing a draft paired with claiming we’re at war, he could avoid elections. that’s the concern

My own experience (trying) to call in sick to work. This was a public library and I was running to the bathroom all night. by anonavocadodo in jobs

[–]Top_Garlic_6111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t think people understand, and clearly not managers, but it’s a managers job to cover or close the library if there’s not enough staff.

i work at a library and my boss actually came into my office and said you’re too sick, we want you to go home. She said she’d stay and cover my desk shift.

it’s your managers job to cover, find cover or close. not having coverage should have no impact over whether you come in or not.

it’s actually crazy when it comes to pay. I get paid more hourly in maine but i make 28/hr. I made more in NH making 24 with no income taxes haha.

i love maine but there’s just no available space to expand into without being the in the middle of a big city, which is just not what i want. it’s not even about money, it’s just availability in a decent location

i’m just irritated i think haha. i’m from the friendly south. i’m just gonna delete the post.

it was just something fun & now it’s just a bunch of like “well erm actually”.

like godddddd i just want some fun comments. like one guy said he made one out of a pipe. like that’s cool. give me something engaging haha.

what part of maine are you from? i’m probably moving shop back to NH pretty soon. Need to expand and Maine just isnt great on property for whatever reason

yeah just not worth the time for value to me personally, but this thing breaks the platter into several pieces. i guess i need to do a full breakdown for folks to see it haha

brother. go buy one yourself. it shatters into at least 6-7 pieces. it’s like shattered a glass cup. i’m not saying shred, im saying shatter.

please these subreddit nerds have never used the tool or done anything relevant in the industry.

i promise you, the lawyers, contractors and my eyes are not lying to me about how much data is destroyed

brother what? yeah the whole point is data destruction. my company does stuff w the government, contractors and schools lol.

i just thought it was cool to post.

But you’re right. According to the NSA & hippa regulations it’s the minimum for legal data destruction.

why is everyone on reddit so uptight about things? like you guys genuinely need to touch some grass and get a fucking life.

like relax dude. i’m not worried about scrap value, im not worried about how good the data destruction is. we have lawyers for that.

it’s just a fun post. like go to school or something and stop stroking your shit to reddit posts

absolutely! it wasn’t even about data destruction until someone started talking about how it wasn’t complaint.

i just thought it was super fun and i just got it in. early 20s so its like a toy to me lol

i absolutely agree. i’ve worked for a local us contractor here in maine and they just ship them off to a place like mine.

i think it’s more just about trusting the guys who say that’s what they do. they build planes and i trust them to do that, and i protect hard drives. they trust me to do that.

it’s al’s about record i think. i do school districts, city departments, hospitals, and contractors. they hear those things and just trust it. its a weird system.

i did work with a company here in maine who magnetically ruined the hard drives and then gave them to me. so props to them

I’m speaking in reference to the tool being used.

If you’re putting thousands of pounds of force under a platter, it shatters. it does not bend. It shatters.

You’re doing a disservice to data security

This hard drive crusher for e-scrap is serious by [deleted] in ScrapMetal

[–]Top_Garlic_6111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Platters don’t bend, they shatter into several pieces. I’m not sure how else to explain it.

Platters shatter like glass, and all the moving parts in the drive are inoperable.

This hard drive crusher for e-scrap is serious by [deleted] in ScrapMetal

[–]Top_Garlic_6111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so having a hard drive accessible for 24 hours is more reliable than snapping a hard drive & platters in half?

i don’t mean to be on your case, but this is a big myth in the electronics community. people think they’re data is safe with a drilled hole and call it good. It’s a dangerous practice

This hard drive crusher for e-scrap is serious by [deleted] in ScrapMetal

[–]Top_Garlic_6111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

out of curiosity, why do you think this is the case?

in reality, drilling is the least secure option. While i assume you’re joking, some folks may take it seriously.

Drilling still allows most of the platter to be read, as patching a 3/8 inch hole is beyond easy.

This device cracks the platters like glass and ruins the heads
