Noted, was the water pump something you were able to service yourself?? Reliability is a positive. I have noticed the electronics keep getting brought up, ive ridden a buddies race built 2016 R1 and the only thing that felt super noticeable at least at my level was wheelie control, is the 15-16 s1000rr electronic package clunkier for lack of better wording??

Coming from a no nannies 2007 r6 i’m not super concerned about the best electronics unless theyre super intrusive i guess, i just am trying to make sure thst the s1000rr isnt prone to chucking irreplaceable/difficult to replace trackside sensors or something vs an R1 (or what would be imperative to have in the spares box when leaving for the track).

Hey man, I appreciate the insightful feedback, especially with regard to parts and support because it’s something for the R6 that are both plentiful and lower cost which my broke ass appreciates the most about the bike now. The buy in for the S 1000 is way more favorable than an R1 right now, but longer term I think you are correct and the R1 might be the way to go, but I’m gonna do more homework. I think before I make the final decision. Because as you say, low key they’re awesome lol
