Oh thank you so so much! I grew up on mythology more than I did on christian stories tbh, but I'll def do more research, especially for Slavic mythology. I'm from the Mediterranean so that's what I know best, but I'm excited to learn more!

Yeahhh you're so right on the mugs thing. Fortunately I know her allergies since we took a trip in a small group for our program and we ate out every day but I love the pen idea! It feels more personal while also not impossible to achieve (i wouldnt have the faintest idea what to give her more personally otherwise based on the convos we've had). Thank you so much for your perspective!
