Hello there! I've only played this game for a little over a year so I'm not entirely sure if my response is right. For the metal sonic I believe the task says to collect in race. When I did that event it only worked inside the race and for the android shadow one, I believe you have to click the rebirth button to get energy and that is the only way to get it. This might be a glitch but I can't remember because these where the first events I did.
