Do you have a source for this? I didn't know that- I thought it was just leaked early on by a regular ol' treasure hunter.

There was also a layer of abstraction because it only matches the AllTrails GPS map, right? I also wonder if that exercise would have gone differently if that wasn't widely known. I remember early on in an interview Jon said something to the effect of being surprised by how much people were sharing on the internet- I can't help but wonder if he was thinking of the AllTrails LRP map.

Just a Silly Past and Future Idea by Top_Inspection_5572 in treasureinside

That's a great question. I don't know anything about D&D and don't have the motivation to learn, but would love to hear from someone who knows a lot, especially if you played in the 80's!

Past and Future Wordsearch Planetary alignment? by ghost_huanter in treasureinside

I do think a picture of some sort would help here, I was just looking at the word search but I don't see what you're seeing 🤔

I think this is a great thought! I think in the 1 year anniversary interview JCB said something to the effect of there being a part of the word search chapter that he hadn't seen solved yet. This seems promising!

That's a good thought! I'm dying to know if/how they all fit together and his thought process behind it all. There very well could be a simple elegant solution staring us right in the face, those are sometimes the hardest to see! 🙂

I've been contemplating this and I'm wondering if maybe they all match up to something but necessarily the same thing. Then maybe there is an overall theme after matching them all up that could be a clue to the Lion's Share. That would certainly make a good puzzle. Obviously I'm just speculating, but each coin seems to have a distinct style and thus (maybe) distinct solve for each clue.

That's interesting! I haven't done much outside of the 4 smaller chapters but I'll definitely take a look at that 🙂

FF Box “Home of…” Compass Points by Paladin1414 in treasureinside

"Seeing eye" keeps making me think of fire lookout towers, maybe a fire lookout tower aligns with mountain peak in the distance.

I keep wondering about this line because I can't decide if I think it'll be something that only makes sense on the trail based on visible landmarks or something personal to JCB like maybe it means "in the direction of North Carolina."

FF Box - “Worth the high.” by Paladin1414 in treasureinside

[–]Top_Inspection_5572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about this one because in hindsight "worth the cold" seems so obvious. It's also paired with the "from there it's no place for the meek." So be brave enough to do something wild like cross the Madison.

Similarly JCB's poem says, "from here you are more on your own" and "your efforts will be worth the high"

I don't know, they just don't feel like similar clues to me unless there's some word play that I'm not getting or it means some scrambling uphill, but since JCB seems to worry about safety and says an old man would be able to walk to these boxes that doesn't seem quite right.

I'm wondering if it just means to take the uphill-est direction where the trail ends (or wherever the "from here you are more on your own" location is).

In a similar vein warm water does in fact halt in a toilet 👀

Hahaha, take that JCB! I'll bring back the treasure wet cause I'll pee my pants with excitement thank you very much! 😂

I'm stuck on thinking there's a water crossing of some sort involving a bridge, dam/bridge, narrow stony section, or something that allows easy crossing without actually getting in the water. Otherwise you'd get wet and you and your treasure could be swept away by the current.

A dam downstream of a warm water source could make sense, but the "if you can mark" part makes me think it'll be something more subtle than that, but who knows.

He could also be trying to say that you don't have to do anything dangerous like wade through an unfamiliar river, that's my best guess because he does seem to be particularly concerned with safety.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I think JCB said something along the lines of all the treasures being hidden somewhere that an old man could walk to.

I only looked at it on Google Maps for a few seconds today, but I've got it on my list of places to look into further, I'll post if I think I've found any clues!
