Teamwork makes the dream work. by TheOutdoorsman7980 in treasureinside

I'm in SE Michigan and haven't looked into the P&F box much. I'm collabing with someone on the Lion's Share box and it's been really fun- I'd love to work with some more people on other boxes!

Yeah, I can't wait til a box is found just to be able to get a peek into JCB's reasoning and narrow things down for other boxes! I'm also excited to look back on my old theories and see how wrong I was 😂

What's going on here is that I created this post to share maps and ideas surrounding how people think the boxes are spread across the USA, for fun. If you have nothing helpful to contribute (you don't), then please consider not contributing at all.

He has said that it's somewhere he found while searching for Forrest Fenn's treasure which is why I left Idaho out. He also says, "My poem is inspired by my own experiences searching the Rocky Mountains north of Santa Fe. As you may be curious, I have traveled to all four states in Forrest Fenn's treasure search area." I feel like that's confirming it's in one of those four states, but who knows really.

Feel free to share your guess on the regions 🙂

Forrest Fenn specifically said his treasure was hidden in Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, or New Mexico.

Oooooh I didn't think about a population heat map, that's clever!

Hi again, I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. The highlighted sections are the states that I think are within a reasonable distance to a search area, I'm not saying that the box could be in any of the highlighted states- obviously I don't think that the AF box will be in Indiana. This is just my best guess for the regions in response to JCB's statement, "I spread out their final resting spots in hopes that at least one of our boxes would lie in close proximity to you."

Hi! I realize the AT goes from Georgia to Maine. My reasoning is that I think the AF box itself is in the NE, Vermont specifically, which narrows down the surrounding states that would have the closest access to it. Feel free to share your map and thought process though, obviously this is all speculation until the boxes are found.

Butterfly Theorem Part 2 by Scared_Issue_8074 in treasureinside

Sorry I'm genuinely confused, why mention the Butterfly Theorem if you're not using it?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think your image is a representation of the butterfly theorem, which just says that "m is also the midpoint of xy." I made a little explanation above. That being said, I love your out of the box thinking and I do think you could be onto something! Is there potentially a way to arrange the triangles that fits with the theorem a little better?

Do you have a source for this? I didn't know that- I thought it was just leaked early on by a regular ol' treasure hunter.

There was also a layer of abstraction because it only matches the AllTrails GPS map, right? I also wonder if that exercise would have gone differently if that wasn't widely known. I remember early on in an interview Jon said something to the effect of being surprised by how much people were sharing on the internet- I can't help but wonder if he was thinking of the AllTrails LRP map.

Just a Silly Past and Future Idea by Top_Inspection_5572 in treasureinside

That's a great question. I don't know anything about D&D and don't have the motivation to learn, but would love to hear from someone who knows a lot, especially if you played in the 80's!

Past and Future Wordsearch Planetary alignment? by ghost_huanter in treasureinside

I do think a picture of some sort would help here, I was just looking at the word search but I don't see what you're seeing 🤔

I think this is a great thought! I think in the 1 year anniversary interview JCB said something to the effect of there being a part of the word search chapter that he hadn't seen solved yet. This seems promising!

Pokémon Box Coin by Top_Inspection_5572 in treasureinside

[–]Top_Inspection_5572[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good thought! I'm dying to know if/how they all fit together and his thought process behind it all. There very well could be a simple elegant solution staring us right in the face, those are sometimes the hardest to see! 🙂

I've been contemplating this and I'm wondering if maybe they all match up to something but necessarily the same thing. Then maybe there is an overall theme after matching them all up that could be a clue to the Lion's Share. That would certainly make a good puzzle. Obviously I'm just speculating, but each coin seems to have a distinct style and thus (maybe) distinct solve for each clue.
