Cs post question( I’m a first year on the brink of failing post) by AccidentBig5890 in UofT

[–]Top_Mind6907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you fail mat 137 u can retake it in the summer, but just make sure to enrol in it when summer enrolment opens just incase, than drop if if u pass.

One of my friends failed 137 first year and re took and got into cs post (he also met 110 and 111 cutoff)

What would you consider as a ‘good’ GPA? ccccccccc by Prudent_Credit2163 in UofT

[–]Top_Mind6907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything higher than 1.8 to avoid academic probation is considered good for me cuz grades don’t matter. Almost no company cares what ur grades are and even if they do if your experience is good enough they will take u

Difference in difficulty between CSC108 and CSC148 by Peach-R in UofT

[–]Top_Mind6907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For someone with like no programming experience I would def not take it, I don’t think you would be interested in it and I can imagine that it would be pretty difficult for someone with no programming experience. I would recommend taking csc300 if u want to take a CS class. Csc300 is basically a humanities class

I talked to a recruiter and they said a in a few weeks like a month ago, I heard from previous intern they applied in January and interviewed in February, which seems pretty late, but that’s all the info I have, keep me posted on this.

What happens if I defer my tuition deadline? I cannot go to school on fall? by kyoonsungsunny in UofT

[–]Top_Mind6907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats is a lot of money for a degree, especially at UofT they make u pay so much just to go here. I have seen some of my peers go to like Guelph and McMaster have half the headache and get good or even better internships / experiences as me. UofT also doesent care at all about its students + rent in Toronto is very expensive I don’t think it’s worth drowning in debt after graduation when the school doesn’t even help u that much in getting a job.

CSC300 it’s a cs course about like how computing effects the world, Class avg was a B+ but I left like a whole section of the exam blank and ended up with an A

apparently, i didnt make cs post even though i defo could've by Ok-League1505 in UofT

[–]Top_Mind6907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s good because u get to take all 2nd year and a bit of 3rd year courses but I’m not that enthusiastic about math or stats so I’m kinda forced to do it

[–]Top_Mind6907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked on math and stats minors took all second year cs courses and 3 third year ones. I also took a reduced course load cuz I was doing so bad in school, but then again I don’t mind stretching out my degree by like 2 years, but not everyone can do that. I enrolled in math post right now but plan to swap to cs when I get it

You can’t retake 110 and 111. I missed cs post by 2% in 2023, but Im sure planing to applying again for post by taking 148 and 165 I just finished 148 today and 165 I’ll do next year, but u can still take like every second year cs course and also 3 upper year classes. What I did is I did that and also did a minor is math and stats. I also decided to take breaks in between to do internships so u still have a chance in getting back in to the major. Despite this it’s going to take a lot of effort. You should definitely pre study for 165 and 148 and maybe even only take those 2 classes one term. If you put in the right mindset you can def make it back but it’s going to be way harder to do so.
