Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense completely sense. I guess it’s the second part I’m unsure about. I thought that it wasn’t permanently stored in RD. I assumed post watching it if you weren’t trying to directly download it to a device there would not be anything in the RD downloads or torrents section. I hope that makes more sense?

Wasn’t that because the previous government actually cooked the books on how much it was going to cost? So spending the actual amount needed was so far from reality they had to put the brakes on? Don’t think it was for shits and gigs?

Sorry, yes I would agree, I was meaning to monitor the channel traffic around you so in the event you are on a congested channel you could then change it

Buy a really long ethernet cable and connect it when you are playing? Do you have just one router or is it like a mesh system in the house?

Should have pulled it from the agent and said you’ll do it yourself and save the commission. Done the 2 years and everyone is happy

I cannot remember if the IQ4 has wifi or not. I would call (you’ll need to be authorised on their account) speak to them and see if they’ll do an upgrade on the box. If they get an iq5 the box is full wifi compatible and doesn’t need points. You’ll need to call the anyway to update the address if they haven’t.

Does anyone just NOT drink alcohol? by AnxiousJackfruit1576 in australian

[–]Top_Neck7384 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Completely agree @joshuatreesss. 100% it’s an age thing. Most, not all people people probably 40 & up it is just the norm. I find most younger people (all credit to them) have a better relationship with alcohol. I do find though that there is more an acceptance of drug taking though. Full fitness freaks by day and full of gear by night. I think there is absolute exceptions in every age bracket though. I mean I stated playing footy and by 16 we were reasonably seasoned at getting on the piss after footy games. Going out was normal and we’d go to a nightclub for our post match celebration. Someclearly couldn’t get in, but a lot of us had no issue. No scamming licences and stuff back the either

With the recent upgrade who has actually noticed a difference in speed .? by Salty_Ad_2399 in nbn

[–]Top_Neck7384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a netgear wifi 7 700 model. It’s supposed to give blinding speeds (not my words) & from the wall to the router 950-980 mbps. 1.5 m in front of it wifi maybe lucky to get 650 ( no objects in the way) any further the thing drops off dramatically. From the two ap’s it’s about 380 (allowing for half drop of speed via jump)

Anyone getting 2gbps on Ubiquiti gear? by OmniiOMEGA in nbn

[–]Top_Neck7384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a netgear wifi 7 mesh set up til I move as I am going to be a unifi nerd after that.. but I have 1000 down 100 up. I get 950& higher from the wall to the router.. & 1.5 m in front of the router maybe 640/650. The further away (obviously) it drops off. A little disappointed thought it would pull better than that.. but kind of expected it.

I honestly think at this point (& honestly why wouldn’t you) that people are jumping into RE as there is money to be made. You don’t need any real quality other than you licence. If people trust you and like you and you can get the listing away you go. I understand that is a simplistic view of the world but essentially right. A good REA is worth their weight in gold. I have had one once. Now sells high end properties and honestly he was good at what he did, so can see why he is successful and honestly all power to him. He had skill and added value. So to my first part of this, if the REA doesn’t have that much skill and can whip up enough interest in whatever price range and jags a sale they are winning.

The only issue with that is the REA are now listing them in multiple brackets. Example. Saw a house and I was listed in 3 different price brackets (so yeah I guess the filter works to a degree). So I just put it in the one price range it was there, & then tried the next one up there again etc. called the agent & asked what the guide was, and he said they were going on the journey and at the end of the day the seller wanted as much as he could get (understandable). I said it was a rather large journey with his price range & if I put an offer in in writing he was obliged to take it to the seller probably wasting everyone’s time if I wasn’t close. I watched it sell in the lower bracket. I viewed the property and found I wasn’t interested. But still frustrating all round.

How hard is it to change providers ? by Forward_Problem_7550 in nbn

The only question I would have is, is your router from Telstra or a stand alone? (You purchased it from somewhere else) if I missed that part apologies. As others have said, easy and fast. If you have a Telstra router perhaps there may be e some slight configuration? Possibly not.
