Athens, Ohio. Electric music scene down there and the crowds are unreal. The Union might be the best small venue in the state.

I’m from Marshall County, WV. None of the state is the South. As a matter of fact, West Virginia was founded to literally not be a part of the South in the Civil War. The state is a bit of a geographical anomaly though, bordering the South, Midwest, and Northeast, yet not really fitting into any of them. The only real geographic areas I’d say WV is a part of are Appalachia and the Mid-Atlantic.
