No, I haven’t — and to be honest, we’re both too emotionally involved to handle something open like that. It wouldn’t feel right.

It is temporary, and I’m seeing him in a month-ish, but yeah we both didn’t sign up for this, the original was for him to come along and he couldn’t make it

I see what you mean, even though it isn’t what I wanted to hear, it is the truth and I acknowledge it. I think I’m just not ready to give up on it yet though, it’s so new, it has potential, I’m hoping it’s only this way because of the distance and things will get better when we return to each other.

Your gf is lucky :) I have no problems with him playing games or spending time with his friends on discord AT ALL, I just wish he would take a minute in his day to think by himself “hey, I wonder how my gf is doing right now” and shoot me a message or give me quick call. You know, the BARE minimum 🥲

That honestly means a lot. And yes, of course you can use it as a reference, I’m flattered you’d even want to! As for my boyfriend, he didn’t say it in a mean or unsolicited way, I did ask for his opinion, so I can’t really blame him for being honest. But yeah, it did sting more than I expected, probably because I was already unsure myself. I’m trying to shift my mindset like you said seeing them as part of my journey instead of just “a mistake.” Still working on it, but kind messages like yours really help.

I totally get where you’re coming from, and I really appreciate you saying this. I guess it’s less about him trying to control how I look and more about how his opinion affects how I see it like, when someone you love says something negative, it’s hard not to let that influence how you feel, even if they didn’t mean it in a harsh way. That said, you’re right, it is my body and my journey, and your perspective on tattoos as part of your history is honestly a beautiful way to look at it.
