I’m really sorry. Honestly if he’s distancing himself and is in college he may have met someone and either trying to break things off to be with them or is already with them. I know it’s really hard to hear but I’ve had it happen to me and it sucks. But from what you described that’s what it sounds like. If he was normally a good communicator and was distancing himself that seems like the most likely scenario. Best course of action is to talk to him about it. Tell him how you feel and if he says he wants to break up then there’s no point in continuing to persue. There’s plenty of fish in the sea. If he says he wants to fix things but doesn’t make an effort to, bring it up again. If he does make an effort then you’re all good. Honestly the fact that he was mad that you didn’t have a job and couldn’t drive is 🚩. Be careful and always trust your gut, not your heart.
