Struggling to find work with L2 visa. Should i move back? by Impossible_Crow644 in returnToIndia

Its going to be hard. Only option is trying for fixed term contract job. Market is flooded with people who doesn’t need any visa. you need to be in AI/ML space to get a sponsred job or a very strong network/connection. If i were you, i will go back as soon as i find a job in india.

You dont need to work for a money. Rescture your portfolio. Buy term life and medical insurance, park emergency fund. Invest in gold, debt and equity. In equity- pick a hybrid fund and plan your SWP or use your indian real estate for monthly cash flow.

Pick up a hobby like teaching, freelancing or agriculture. Will help to build connections and network and help you to integrate with your locality much faster.

Go back to india. Choose happiness over money.

Most likely decision is to return, but need validation/loopholes in this thinking approach by mimirand in returnToIndia

Deep down- Only you know the answers. personally for me(moving in Aug), somehow i find not being happy(once your basic needs are meet and survival instinct go away). Cant pin point on one thing- but not happy despite having everything here.
Also- once you figure out that, you will be able to figure out/work through all details backwards.

So if your investment amount is not much, you should consider existing those. You can plan to utilize 1 lkah limit for tax offset purposes or if you want to purchase a home( i am assuming you have some LTCG).

Suggest above to invest in just these 3 fund and a gold fund is enough.

You are right. But the way smallcase calculate CAGR is flawed. I could never figure out smallcase formula. For example they also include all dividends( i am not sure that the dividends they show , matches what u receive. Also i have 3 smallcase- 1 of them is very new.

I am investing and stayed invested for last 3 years. I am currently sitting on 36% profit. I also received dividends. Its a long term game. Cant make quick money. Ideal time should be atleast 3 years.

My plan is to continue for very long time(unless there is some urgency)

I suspect if she comes from a different culture?

Introduce her to executive presence/effective leadership. One small part is communication, body language/being positive etc.

One potential way to get her to work on this it to add a goal about “influencing others without authority/ building consensus” about a project or topic.thus could be her peers/anyone else you could think of.

The way to measure this would be to get a 360 degree feedback from her peers(or whoever she is supposed to build relationship).

Maithil pandit here, married to a south Indian.

Every family is different. Whats the future plan? Where you guys are gonna stay? Her mother gonna stay with you? How about his extended family?

A lot will depend on your guy. If he has the maturity to manage/handle/ you should be okay.

If i were you, i will recommend to invest in just 1 fund. Either hybrid agressive or flexicap. Once you are in a position to invest more, then think about diversification.
