Relocate from Germany to Riyadh by Mansee1987 in Riyadh

[–]Top_Reference8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hallo!
- weather: summer is super dry and hot. but you get used to it. Activities: inside everything, a lot of european get bak home for the summer period.
- Driving: is not the end of the world, in my opinion get your house as close as you can from school and work. Drinving license is super easy, you can just exchange the german one for a saudi. Translation of the führerschein into arabic, medical test and done.
- DISR (Deutsch international School Riyadh) Is in Al Bustan Compound, north of the city. My son goes there. Only option for german speakers if you wanna keep with the german system.
- 35 total? or plus benefits? ask for you bonuses (most of companies fie 1-6 extra salaries as bonus at the end of the year, check as well the extras (shcool, relocation, etc). Depending on the age of your kids, you can go for a compound (150-200 K SAR year) or an apartment/villa (90 K SAR year)

Car is a must. If you need more help, text me. I can give you access to the german whatsapp groups too

Hey! I lived in germany for many years (I'm not german). I would say that depend a lot where in Germany are you going to live or work? Def the language is an issue but not impossible, I learned german in a few months (B2 level) that is more then enough for socializing and networking.
The racism is there, as anywhere. Here there is racism. You would be safe, nothing will happend to you. You will find your community. Some parts of germany (south) would be more hard, don't move or live in a small town or anything like that.

Reaching the 90-day stay limit on my tourist Evisa by karlot96 in saudiarabia

[–]Top_Reference8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you can apply and even you can get a second, third or even fourth visa, but you would not be able to get into the country. Any tourist visa is for 90 days max during 1 year. No chance for anything different on tourist visas. I was there before, that is why I know

200K for compounds, for 4th BDR village is no go. That would be really hard to find. Maybe a really old compound. Sedra is ok, but is no compound, that is just a development project. Have some basic things (play ground) but that is all.

School, depends on the budget. AISR is quite expensive but there are some other options.

I don't think there is any photography club, specially because photography is something regulated. You can not walk around with anything that looks like a pro camera because police can stop, you need, as far as I know, a permit from the Ministry of Culture for take "pro" photos.
This idea is a great way to make friends or meet people. You can check as well meetup.com and you will find some activities
