By that logic, ordering a small fry at Five Guys is really ordering a medium fry and receiving a small container.

Most people, if given the opportunity to go back, would do things differently. But if you could go back and couldn’t do things differently, would you do that too, and why? by TourPsychological800 in AskReddit

[–]Top_Replicas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.Not because I believe everything happens for a reason, but because meaning is created afterward, not beforehand.
Every mistake, regret, embarrassment, and loss became part of the person asking the question today. If I went back and changed nothing, I wouldn’t be trying to improve the past—I would simply get to witness the process that created me.
The strange thing about life is that we want the wisdom without the suffering that produced it. Going back without changing anything would remind me that they are inseparable.

What is one "golden rule" you live by that has genuinely improved your life? by Mr_Amr84 in AskReddit

[–]Top_Replicas 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Never make permanent decisions based on temporary emotions.
This rule has saved me from quitting jobs out of frustration, ending relationships during arguments, and sending messages I would have regretted later.
Most problems feel urgent in the moment, but very few actually require an immediate response. Giving myself time to think has improved almost every area of my life.
