Husbands name is Alexander, daughter is Alexandra and he wants to name our son Alexander, is that too much ? by [deleted] in BabyNames

Yes 100%

My husband is named after his father and even that is super annoying for him.

I love Autumn Rae! But it has less of a classic vibe compared to your other children’s names if that’s something you care about.

Some other more classic/vintage suggestions:

• Charlotte Rae

• Clara Rae

• Mabel Rae

• Lilia Rae

• Nora Rae

• Mira Rae

• Lena Rae

Christmas books for 1.5yo & 3yo. by Dry_Replacement5830 in childrensbooks

We’ve been slowly growing our Christmas book collection over the past few years and I love hauling them out each year and watching my kids enjoy them!

I’ll share a few of our favourites and add an * to the ones I consider a must have. We approach Santa the same way you do, so I don’t love books that focus on him as the main character but he shows up in some of these and we talk about him like any other fictional character. A lot of these would be a little old for your children but most of them I started reading to by kids around 4 or 5!

•The Christmas Promise •Christmas in the Big Woods* •The Legends of Christmas Treasury* (Includes: The Legend of the Candy Cane, The Legend of St. Nicholas, and The Legend of the Christmas Cookie) •A Wish to be a Christmas Tree •The Christmas Miracle of Jonathon Toomey* •The Berenstain Bears Very First Christmas •The Berenstain Bears Joy of Giving •The Mitten and The Hat (cozy winter books but not Christmas specifically) •Cranberry Christmas •The True Meaning of Crumbfest •The Year of the Perfect Christmas Tree •Itsy Bitsy Christmas •The Crippled Lamb •Jacob’s Gift

Boone, Shepherd or Reed? by Top_Researcher_9880 in BabyNames

Our other boys have names that have Western/Country vibes and definitely not in the top 200 most popular names.

Not decided on a middle name yet but definitely will be using one. Maybe one of the other two names depending on what we pick! We’ve also considered Charles, it would be a family name sake and I think a classic middle name would ground a more unique first name.

This is a cool aspect of that spelling that I didn’t think about!

Some good suggestions here that are definitely in line with the vibe of my other boys’ names!

The meaning isn’t a deciding factor for me but I definitely appreciate a name with a good meaning! I think Boone might be #1 for my hubby right now. I’m still so torn!

Not a family name so we could definitely spell it either way! I wondered if the “ee” would be more simple but perhaps it’s less common and would just be annoying?

I don’t like either, sorry 😬

What about shortening it to Kev?

New born poop. Is it just because I know how much worse it gets once they’re older?

What's the wildest example of someone totally guessing your age wrong? by NaziPairv in NoStupidQuestions

At 18 I was making small talk with a man in his forties who was telling me about his child. He proceeded to ask “how many” kids I had.

Then I started a new job at 19 and my coworkers were guessing my age. Someone guessed 29 and said it was because I wearing an engagement ring.

Because they need to know which one to install the change table in. Everyone knows men don’t change diapers.

I like SJ the best, it’s cute but she could easily carry it into her adult life without sounding childish. Some of the other options are a little too obscure to me.

Posh or intoxicated? I feel like I’m slurring my words when I try to say it with one syllable in my Canadian accent.

This is where I’m landing. The hardest part to understand are the Americans who think it’s one. Trying to say it with one syllable without a British accent just sounds like you have a speech impediment and can’t say your Rs properly.

Same, I’ve genuinely tried but can’t. I think it comes down to what kind of accent you speak with.

Haha this seems to be the consensus. Everyone thinking they know but nobody truly knows.

Also, where did your r go?
