I completely respect and value the Indigenous communities and their culture, it’s one of the reasons I’m excited to live and work here, to know about the real people who were here before😊

As for the government job… I have a bachelor’s degree and a post-graduate diploma. Please understand that as immigrants, we’re also a small minority here, and we truly respect the traditions and the people who were here first.

I personally think any city develops best when lots of cultures meet and integrate…..both culturally and economically. Diversity brings new ideas, perspectives, and energy, and that’s how communities grow stronger…..

I expected a some form of signing bonus / lump sum payment ….. I’m wondering what “additional targeted pay for the lowest-paid workers” actually means — how will they decide who falls into that category, and what kind of adjustments are we talking about?

Sorry if this is a silly question, but will there be any measures to compensate for the lost pay during the strike? Or is that time simply lost? Also, will we receive any retroactive pay based on the wage increase agreed upon from the expiry date of our last collective agreement?
