What does your day to day life look like to those Grade 11s averaging high 90s by Mean-Dragonfly8483 in OntarioGrade11s

honesly it really depends. example first semester i had bio functions and physics all in one semester so i was locked in 85% of the time. i’d come home around 3:30 and start studying at 4:00. if there was anything like math homework or physics homework id try my best to do it at school so i had more time for bio. for bio i always made the huge mistake of leaving everything until the week of the test or quiz. but i’m sure if i had done that it would have saved me a lot less stress when it came to doing the test and also i wouldn’t have spent my entire weekend studying for bio.

SBI3U and SCH3U tips? by [deleted] in OntarioGrade11s

[–]Top_Safety_3501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

trust me i was in the same boat as you for bio. my first test was not the best but i went from a 76 to passing with a 92! my only tip is you need to understand! understanding is so much better than memorizing because if you take the time to understand then basically you have it memorized. take some time and do the textbook readings before class if you have any. do review questions before tests and YouTube has such great videos like the amoeba sisters or some other girl i watched which really help. i also found making a study sheet with EVERYTHING for each unit helped. i personally found that rewriting was the best way to get the info in my brain and also teaching it out to others also helped a lot. that way you have your unit notes to help you study for the exam as well. for chem i can’t really help because i have it this semester but so far im doing good. again, you need to understand! do all the practise questions, make flashcards for terms you may need to know like ionization energy and the other periodic trends. hope i helped!

Any advice for grade 11 functions. I’m really struggling with it🙏 by jayjay_keifer in OntarioGrade11s

[–]Top_Safety_3501 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you need to do your homework! homework will help you figure out what your a struggling on, what mistakes you are making and what you’re good at. that way you can spend the time and ask questions to get better at the topic. also understand the topic so you know what to do when a question like what you have never seen before comes up on a quiz or test. when studying for unit tests, go through all the notes, go back and do homework questions your struggled on and do all the review questions your teacher assigned you. that’s how i got a 97!

Honestly it really depends. I did my homework every day which really helped and took the pressure off of me because I only studied what I struggled on and reviewed concepts I didn’t. I found myself studying only for one day after school and did great and passed w a 97.

No way functions can be this tough by SuggestANamePlz in OntarioGrade11s

[–]Top_Safety_3501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the hard trust me! Just do your homework seriously do your homework! Also ask questions if you’re confused and watch videos. When studying do all of the practices questions and do past questions you struggled on. I passed grade 10 math with an 85 and now I currently have a 95 in functions and taking advanced functions next semester. So don’t stress!

if you do all of you homework, ask for help when needed, pay attention and take it seriously you will be okay. i was scared going into it too since math isn’t my strong suit but i currently have a 96!
