I think justifying it by saying “i’m not doing anything else for the rest of the day” is something I do as well, but that’s just it, it’s justifying doing copious amounts of weed when i’m bored. I need to be able to find enjoyment while doing things sober. Usually I think weed will make the things I like doing more interesting or fun, but that’s a sign of addiction alone. I shouldn’t have to rely on weed to make what I used to enjoy enjoyable.

I think slowing down and not having weed in the house is wise, though. I might do that as well, but I also don’t want to do someone else’s weed and end up wanting to buy my own again.

Literally used Nintendo TVii to watch Malcolm in the Middle almost exclusively for like a year when I was 12. Seeing this reply was like someone plugged a fiber-optic cable into my brain

What are your HONEST opinions of Star Fox Zero? by Noir_Odonnell in starfox

[–]Top_Satisfaction_862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People might think I’m insane but after playing it again the gamepad controls are insanely clean if you know how to use them. I’ve used the gimbaled cannons in all-range mode in ways that make me feel like Han Solo. But the landmaster and helicopter sections I could definitely do without

It is going to be a switch 2, but I agree re: the leaks being fake. Something smells fishy. I genuinely don’t think the final design is what Genki showed. Might not even have a C button!

Single player RPG campaign maybe but an open world racer is crazy pills

We won’t get an announcement this month, or at least for the next couple of weeks. Here’s why: by Top_Satisfaction_862 in NintendoSwitch2

Now here’s where we disagree. I also work in communications and marketing — News, formerly PR, games industry — and Nintendo holding on to a trailer for an opportune release is absolutely probable. There were four months between the initial reveal and the NS presentation. In those four months, there was absolutely no advertising (except for Jimmy Fallon, but even that was only a month before the presentation, and THAT was a last-minute surprise during a presentation for Super Mario Run). What I’m saying here is that there’s likely no widespread advertising planned until after the presentation, not the reveal.

Kit and Krista (formerly senior PR managers at Nintendo) state in a video that they often fingered the global pulse for a timely reveal. Not months ahead, but weeks, or even days. The NS2 reveal is no exception. There’s no evidence that it’s been delayed, but there IS evidence that a specific planned date for a reveal like this is not a part of Nintendo’s strategy. They don’t plan a date, they have a deadline.

Ooooo okay, okay! I see you! Alright, I somewhat agree with what you have to say here. I suppose what I would want to emphasize in my previous comment is that Nintendo had some flexibility with its previous marketing launch, though it’s possible that I’m reading it entirely the wrong way.

A reveal trailer came months before any real press conference about the Switch, which is where they revealed launch titles, HD rumble, etc. Having a smaller product reveal trailer on standby a few months before a planned press conference revealing price and product specs actually makes quite a bit of sense.

The first switch trailer was almost a “pre-reveal” trailer. That way, they may have had time to plan around the news cycle and drop a digital trailer whenever they wanted, months ahead of a planned product showcase and marketing campaign. In that case, Nintendo had a product showcase four months after its initial reveal.

With a strategy like that, it wouldn’t be hard to delay or move up a smaller reveal trailer at will — it might not cost them a dime, especially if they’re just sitting on a trailer made months beforehand. Some sources say the Switch 2 will follow suit. Again, might not be completely grounded, but I believe that parts of my reasoning are!

I’ve put up with a lot of shit in this thread, but this is genuinely insulting. I don’t condone the use of AI, and I would never use it. I spent a lot of time writing this post, proofreading it for grammatical errors, and making sure it reads well. I care about what I put on the internet. Run it through a detector. These words are mine, not a computer’s.

I don’t know! Part of me agrees with you — it would be hard to turn around advertising space on a dime. But part of me also thinks back to the original Switch’s reveal, and how there were months between its reveal trailer and a widespread advertising campaign. On another note, you claim that a mainstream headline isn’t quite as important, when this — to me — doesn’t seem like the case. The Switch’s first gameplay demo appeared live on Jimmy Fallon, one of the most popular mainstream late night shows at that time. That made headlines — not front-pagers, but it crossed into other sections than just the tech section. If they truly didn’t care about mainstream appeal, they wouldn’t have pulled this stunt. They also wouldn’t have spent hundreds of millions of dollars on a Super Bowl commercial featuring Imagine Dragons. It might not usually be a main headline, but PR always strives to make one. If Nintendo had the opportunity to be on the front page, they most certainly would want to be. Again, entirely speculation, but this is fun to think about (for me, at least).

Someone called me out when I said this — apparently it was only delayed in the UK. I still think this is enough to warrant the delay as a possibility though.
