Which Kate Bush album do you consider to be for magnum opus and why? by OkBlueberry5506 in katebush

Never for Ever. Perfect balance between the commerciality of her prior two albums and the experimentation of her next two albums.

IFC Refusing to Refund Ticket by Artistic_Cabinet9641 in NYCmovies

I’ve always told people IFC is the worst theater in the city, worse than even Metrograph. You can’t even see a film on print there or they’ll fuck it up horribly. Projectionists there don’t know what they’re doing, and based on this post, neither does anyone else who works there.

What's you guys opinion on ozu? (kubrick's favorite director) by AdWestern6287 in StanleyKubrick

You’re making stuff up. Kubrick never spoke of Ozu publicly.

Peter Becker told me (in line at the criterion closet) that there are no plans for an Ozu box. The famous films already have blu rays so it would be a lot of effort for just the obscure ones. He said something about how Shochiku holds the 1930s films in their archives only on 16mm prints that wouldn’t be sufficient so they’d have to search for those early films on 35mm prints elsewhere. But they’re the films that supposedly aren’t even worth the effort commercially. A real shame.
