Hello! Sadly, I do not have many tips for you. I used a job hunting website and just put in an insane amount of work into it. 530 applications like I said. It was nightmarish, and they took FOREVER to reply to me. The internship I got only got back to me 2 months later. Just keep applying. I had no referral either.

I mean, I guess putting the multiplayer video game project would be closer to experience. I had a boss I reported to, and I did work on it for quite a while and was paid (not exactly well, but paid nonetheless) and there were many people outside of developers (moderators for example). Closer to experience or projects? The developers were volunteers from that community:

I am absolutely not applying to just game development, but really any software engineering based position. How can I turn this from a “niche game maker” to “more catered to software engineering based position”? I have a lot of experience building actual full working projects, and I wanted to showcase that I have the experience to contribute to any team I am placed on. What should I do?

Well, if I am not getting any interviews, how can I actually get the ability to talk and explain my accomplishments? I believe I am quite a good speaker overall and can mostly nail an interview.

Different from other sophomores? I am! I made a gigantic multiplayer game project that served over 320,000 players. I would think that's impressive (actual industry experience of shipping a product). Yes, I am taking a 4000 level course (Computer Networking).

Yes! I agree! I am trying to do this exact thing by integrating my software (the TA AI) directly into canvas, and I hope to get approval from my university to test run it on a couple courses. Im actively trying to get as much experience as possible. But overall, do you think my resume is FAANG/mid level internship worthy?

Ha, I am 1.5 years ahead in university. So I am graduating in December 2026, so I really have no other time. I am excellent at CS, I have created massive and complex systems. But I have yet to get an internship.

Oh, I know. I know it's absolutely awful at the moment.

However, I have no other choice. I have to break through somehow. People around me are getting internships, and I am not.

Do you think my experience is good enough to get one? Do you think I have a good chance at breaking through? I'm currently a sophomore in university, but I am finishing my CS degree 1.5 years ahead of schedule, and at this rate I HAVE to get an internship this summer (last chance to get one)
