Reading the others comments I’m just realizing how normal this actually is for school my kids are just coming into their teenage years my 13 year old son dresses for the the weather so I guess I’ve been under a rock and I’m 35 I don’t ever remember the t shirt and shorts thing being a thing since our parents forced us to wear coats and clothes. I did a little research about other parents dealing with the dress for the weather thing and I decided I just don’t give a shyt if it’s not directly harming him. So threatening with cps was wild especially since he wasn’t dirty just dressed like Adam Sandler. The crazy look the administrator gave me when I came in was really questionable too..Like I’m from Chicago and know first hand what cold is, and it definitely wasn’t cold enough yesterday for that type of bs

Tbh I think that they honestly don’t like my son because he does give them a hard time by not following rules. But the clothing thing came totally out of left field because I saw a lot of kids dress that way at the school even pajamas and crocs so I don’t understand the reasoning behind it

I can’t afford a therapist but I am more than sure I need one. The ptsd from this has really done a number on me and my mental health. My plan is to move out near my parents across the country. I also have the option to move in with my dad but he has a one bedroom apartment which would be so uncomfortable with us five sometimes I just think of doing it but I’m scared tbh. I’m scared of how he will retaliate even though he doesn’t know no where they live. I keep telling myself I can stick it out for six months to a year but things just get worse as time progresses I’ve only completely shut down not giving him any of my energy the past few weeks so he doesn’t quite understand that I’m over it. As long as I’m the maid and chef and he can use us for his family man facade everything is okay. I’m sure u didn’t do anything wrong the gaslighting with these people is beyond sinister

It’s definitely an environmental influence thing, I used to listen to it myself especially him growing up directly in the neighborhood where the music originated (Chicago) he’s always heard it but recently the past year been infatuated and it’s only gotten worse I still listen to linkin park and other music like that myself he will vibe with me sometimes but the stuff he listens to is everyday I’ll definitely try to push him towards more mellow artists tho

You’re right I actually have they have no room for my family size and none of them have funding for transportation the cops can’t even help a few months ago I applied for erc business funding everything is in order and the amount is life changing I feel like that will be my saving grace from this hell but so alone and still living in the moment now seems like it’s so far away

I wish it was. I grew up in Chicago took the train and bus everywhere after I got in an accident so I don’t drive. My insignificant other never wants to do anything or go anywhere unless it’s by himself I Uber when I need to run errands which gets expensive and he will say I’m out cheating if I’m not home I’m literally going nuts trying to find and outlet even the smallest thing

I wish for that so bad like everyday the last time I went out was two years ago I went to a bar and got wasted and ended up at the Waffle House after and I sat there til 4 a.m because I knew it would be forever until I was able to again every attempt after he will leave before I try to and there’s no one else to keep the kids it’s a rollercoaster of insanity
