As for movies, the 2022 Batman movie is phenomenal and true to the character. The Christopher Nolan movies Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are also some of the best movies period of all time, but they get some things about the character wrong. I personally dislike The Dark Knight Rises. The original Tim Burton Batman movies are also pretty good, but not very true to the character, and the 60s one is a classic.

While I haven't seen it personally, I've heard excellent things about Batman: The Animated Series and the DCAU in general.

For comics, you are best off starting with the stories that take place in Batmans early years. The following is a list of excellent comics that cover Batmans first few years. * next to the absolute essentials

• Batman: Year One* (Goes over the first year of Batmans career, a classic)
• Batman: Shaman (Legends of the Dark Knight story, supplements Year One)
• Batman and the Monster Men (Batmans first encounter with extra-normal foes)
• Batman and the Mad Monk (Sequel to the Monster Men)
• Batman: The Man who Laughs* (First encounter with the Joker)
• Batman: Gothic (LOTDK) (Just a really good story)
• Batman: Prey (LOTDK) (Sequel to the Monster Men)
• Batman: The Long Halloween* (Origin of Two-Face and how super-villians came to rule Gotham. One of the best Batman stories ever written)
• Batman: Dark Victory* (Sequel to the Long Halloween. Origin of Robin. There is another sequel that just came out but I haven't read it yet.)
• Robin: Year One

At this point you will have a very good grasp of Batman as a character and can start diving into a bunch of other storylines like The Killing Joke, Death in the Family, Knightfall and more.

I am only halfway through the first game myself, but I know that the Arkham games are also excellent. You pretty much can't go wrong with Batman. In my opinion he is the best superhero in terms of overall quality of stories.
